Make-up feature wins to Logue and Fye before Mother Nature comes calling at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (June 17, 2023) – Make-up features for last week’s rain out at Boone Speedway were completed before Mother Nature spoiled the rest of the night’s festivities Saturday evening. These were run before the regular weekly show began. Johnathon Logue won the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature and it was Aron Fye taking top honors in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Both features went flag to flag. The Stock Cars ran their 20-lap make up feature first and Logue led all but the opening laps. He got around Lonnie Hodges on lap six and then went on to claim the top spot the rest of the way to the checkers. Austin Bouzek, the Trenton, Mo., driver who has been racing at the track weekly, was on Logue’s tail for much of the race and tried a last-ditch effort slider out of turn four on the run to the checkers, but wasn’t successful. Off Road Speedway doubles up with make-up features

(June 17, 2023) – Off Road Speedway doubled up on its regular slate of racing Saturday night, adding the features that were rained out a week ago to offer race fans and drivers a two-for-one bonus opportunity. For some drivers, who appear to be finding the most effective setup for the Norfolk track and are preparing their cars accordingly, that became a chance to double up on finishes among the top five or, in some cases, to notch another win. Four-time defending national champion Cory Dumpert picked up his third Off Road Speedway feature win of the season in the IMCA Sunoco Late Model division. Dumpert started five rows back and wasn’t among the top six cars chasing leader Ben Sukup, but that changed with nine laps left. Spahr sprints to Hagerstown win

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (June 17, 2023) – Already a six-time winner in Pennsylvania Sprint Series action this season, Logan Spahr became a first-time winner in two other IMCA RaceSaver series Saturday night. Spahr collected the checkers at Hagerstown Speedway in the event co-sanctioned by the Virginia Sprint Series, Laurel Highlands Sprint Series and PASS. The annual meeting of the three series was another great event with 43 cars checking in. Michael Alleman and Ken Duke paced the field to green with Alleman out first and right away joined by Austin Reed. Duke and the front group swapped the lead every lap. Alleman was fast on the bottom while Reed stayed to the top. Spahr showed up and moved to second as Reed started to fade with mechanical problems but Duke was right there to take up the charge. Gillenwater scores first win of season

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (June 16, 2023) – Lee County Speedway took a night to highlight the career of area racer Ernie Derr on Friday as the car he drove in his final races was on display and also make some laps around the track during the evening’s activities. Jim Gillenwater led all 18 laps in scoring his first win of the season at Donnellson in the caution-free Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main. John Oliver Jr. was runner-up and Adam Birck took third. The 25-lap Iowa Corn Growers Association IMCA Sunoco Late Model feature saw Jason Oenning work the top of the track and take the lead on lap 11, then hold off a last lap charge from Jeremy Pundt to score his second career feature win. Kile, Strothman headline winners’ list at CJ Speedway

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (June 16, 2023) – The weatherman provided another beautiful night Friday for racing action at the CJ Speedway, located on the Louisa County Fairgrounds in Columbus Junction. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds took the green for their 18-lap feature with Kurt Kile splitting the front row starters, the Brau brothers, Kile took the lead that he would not relinquish. Outside fourth row starter Jarrett Brown worked to the front quickly and tried to catch the quick running Kile but although he was able to close on the leader, Brown was unable to mount a serious challenge for the lead. Kile took the win ahead of Brown and visitor Zach Dockter from Norwich, N.D. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars never fail to provide great racing action and that was the case once again as the 16-lap main event saw plenty of wheel to wheel racing action. McBirnie McMasters IMCA Modifieds at MoTown

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 16, 2023) – Jake McBirnie pocketed $1,000 for his Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature win on Friday, Midwest Liquid Systems Night at the Karl Auto Group Marshalltown Speedway. McBirnie started on the outside front row in the 20-lap Night after the Creek main event and leaped to the immediate lead when the race went green. He would go on to lead every lap on his way to the checkers to capture his first win at the speedway this season along with qualifying eligibility for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Joel Rust and Maguire DeJong had a good battle going on behind McBirnie, with Rust winning out for second and DeJong taking third. Fresh off a heat race win, Chris Pigeon paced the opening laps of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature. Pigeon ran the cushion as Bartz went to work down low. Bartz made the pass for the top spot on lap four and never looked back, cruising to her first feature win of the season and a clean sweep on the night. Horejsi cashes in at Kossuth County

IMCA Stock Car win at US 36 is first for Smith

By Rick Staley OSBORN, Mo. (June 16, 2023) – The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at US 36 Raceway saw side-by-side racing and a first-time visitor to victory lane Friday night. Carson Masoner took the early lead and pulled away from the field with Brad Derry, Matthew Lance and Nate Barnes nipping at his heels. He continued to lead until Randy Smith Jr. found the fast line around the track and took over at the front. Smith, who has won in about everything except an IMCA Stock Car, did not look back nor was he denied in picking up his first-ever feature win in The Class Too Tough To Tame at US 36 Raceway. Lance placed a very close second with Barnes crossing in third. The Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite feature ended with Dillon Raffurty back in victory lane.

IMCA Modifieds race for $5,000 at Gallatin’s Modtana Madness special

BELGRADE, Mont. (June 15, 2023) – Big money is at stake for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds in Big Sky Country. Gallatin Speedway’s first annual Modtana Madness presented by NAPA Auto Parts is slated Friday, June 30-Saturday, July 1 and boasts a $5,000 top prize. While the winner gets the biggest check and becomes eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational, the runner-up takes home $3,000 and third place pays $2,000. Drivers finishing in the top 10 bank at least $1,000 and making the main event pays $400. Entry fee is $100, pit passes are $35 and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Shaw Race Cars Western Region, Montana State and track points will be awarded.
