Arlington Stock Car checkers fly for Lund

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 25, 2022) – Saturday’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at Arlington Raceway saw a new car in victory lane but not without a battle first. Andrea McCain led the first seven laps before getting too high following a restart and seeing Curt Lund take over the top spot. Tim Malchow started ninth and worked his way to second but couldn’t get around Lund as the cars behind him were all vying for the top spot, too, with three- and four-wide racing. In the end Lund won the race, Malchow took second and Chad Schroeder took third. Cory Probst again pulled off the feature win in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature, which was tainted with a late race crashes on laps nine and 10. Andrews sails from 10th to Eagle checkers

(June 25, 2022) – Matt Andrews went sailing Saturday night, from row five at the start to victory lane following Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main event at Eagle Raceway. Andrews started 10th, snagged the lead with 12 to go and took the checkers ahead of Ryan Argobast and Dana Deeke. “When you have to start in the back because of the points deal, it’s pretty tough to get to the front. A lot of these guys are really good and that’s the reason they’re out here,” Andrews said. “We’ve struggled getting through them but tonight was our night” “I think we were in second four laps in and I know I looked up at the scoreboard and there were 12 to go when I took the lead,” he added. “From there it was smooth sailing.” Jordan Grabouski won both Friesen Performance IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car features. Wilkinson Express keeps rolling at Off Road Speedway

(June 25, 2022) – The Cameron Wilkinson Expressed rolled to victory lane for the sixth time in eight starts this season at Off Road Speedway. Wilkinson hurried to the front of Saturday’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car field from deep in the starting lineup, this time from the sixth row, requiring just six laps to take the lead from Justin Berschinger, who had inherited the front position after early leader Ron Pettitt left with car trouble. Austin Brauner took second place and Tejay Miellke finished third. James Roebuck won a Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature for the third time at Off Road Speedway by wresting the lead from Wes Hochstein coming out of turn four with 12 laps left. Roebuck then held off pressure from eventual second-place finisher Colby Langenberg and Mitch Coble.

Marolf, Eckrich claim Drive For 5 victories at Lee County

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (June 24, 2022) – Nick Marolf and Denny Eckrich were both $1,000 feature winners in round four of Drive For 5 Friday night at Lee County Speedway. Ray Raker and Darin Weisinger Jr. led the field to green in the 25-lap IMCA Sunoco Late Model main, with Weisinger sliding past Raker on lap two to take over the top spot. Coming off turn two to complete lap eight, Marolf went three-wide off the top of the track to emerge with the lead, with Chuck Hanna moving into the runner-up spot one lap later. Hanna’s run up front came to an end on lap 16, as he slowed and pulled into the pits with mechanical troubles. This handed the second spot to Dalton Simonsen. IMCA Stock Cars are spectacular at Shawano

(June 25, 2022) – Though the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division is known as The Class Too Tough To Tame, it doesn’t always feature a three-wide battle for the lead for nearly half of the race. But Saturday night at Shawano Speedway it sure did with Trent Nolan prevailing for his fourth win of the year. Fresh off an impressive heat race win earlier in the evening, Dylan Stedjee took the lead on lap one. Tyler Wendt pressured Stedjee from the start, pulled alongside the leader on more than one occasion while Kyle Frederick, Nolan and Luke Lemmens joined the battle at the front of the field. Frederick pulled to the outside of Stedjee on lap seven to take the lead. Lemmens quickly made it three-wide for the lead with Frederick and Stedjee. Frederick continued to lead as Lemmens ran second and Nolan moved to third. Jared makes it Miller Time at CJ Speedway

COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (June 24, 2022) – Jared Miller has seen his motor luck go from bad to worse so far this season, but still had a good feeling going into his IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main event Friday night at CJ Speedway. Those positive vibes became reality after the West Branch driver drew the pole start and held off heavy hitters Randy LaMar and John Irwin following a late restart for the checkers. The win was his career second in the IMCA class and first since 2010 at then-hometown Marshalltown Speedway. “We’ve blown up four engines so far this year, including one leading the feature here at Columbus Junction a couple weeks ago,” said Miller. “But I had a good feeling about tonight. Wroten makes history at CJ Speedway

It happened in the very tough IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division. Leah Wroten made her third consecutive trip to CJ Speedway and started the main event in the second row. Wroten took the lead on lap five from Kenny O’Donnell and went on to make history by winning the main event in convincing fashion. A late-race caution bunched the field up but Wroten held her line and sailed on to the win ahead of Tom Cannon and O’Donnell. When asked if he could remember the last time a woman made her way to victory lane, promoter Larry Richardson was stumped and could not remember when or if it had happened. Rust dominates and Damon Murty takes rich win while Graham earns first Marshalltown checkers

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 24, 2022) – It was Drury Automotive and Truck Repair Night at the Marshalltown Speedway on Friday evening with extra money on the line for the IMCA Stock Cars and the IMCA STARS Mod Lites. While Joel Rust took a dominant win in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Damon Murty went home $1,000 richer with his IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win and Randy Bryan took the $350 IMCA STARS Mod Lite checkers. Sam Wieben captured his first win of the season in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and Bradly Graham took his first trip to victory lane at Marshalltown in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock division. Brian Mullen motors to $1,000 payday at Outagamie Speedway

(June 24, 2022) – One hundred and forty-two racers checked to do battle at Outagamie Speedway powered by EWSC Friday night, among them 37 Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, 39 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, 30 Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and 19 Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. The stage was set for the Modified main event as Brian Mullen jumped to the lead at the drop of the green as Shawn Kilgore gave chase. A pair of early cautions allowed Mike Mullen and Tyler Wilson to challenge Kilgore for the runner-up spot. As the race reached the halfway point, Mike Mullen began to apply heavy pressure to Kilgore for second place. Mike’s bid to chase down Brian went by the wayside on lap 13 as his car went spinning while side-by-side with Kilgore. Lopez locks in first victory during Benton County Fair

VINTON, Iowa (June 23, 2022) – The Benton County Fair will always be special to Kaylin Lopez. Especially this year’s. The 18-year-old from Chowchilla, Calif., who has spent the last two summers racing in central Iowa, earned his career first Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature win when county fair entertainment opened Thursday night with a night of IMCA weekly racing. Lopez chased pole-sitter Justin Wacha for a handful of laps before working around the leader just shy of midway. He held the point for the duration of the 15-lapper to score the memorable win at The Bullring. Kyle Olson made a late charge from a fourth row start to earn runner-up honors, one second behind Lopez. Tony Olson and Wacha completed the top four. Dallon Murty earned his second straight win in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds.
