Quad City Speedway Deery show rescheduled for May 15

EAST MOLINE, Ill. (May 2) – The Deery Brothers Summer Series show at Quad City Speedway has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 15. Rained out on May 1, the IMCA Late Model tour event at East Moline pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. No change in the daily schedule has been made from the original race date: Pit gates open at 3 p.m. while the grandstand opens at 3:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 5 p.m. with racing to follow. Also on the card are Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for all applicable points, along with street stocks. Box seating is $18. Other spectator admission is $15 for adults, $8 for kids ages 6-12 and free for five and under. Pit passes are $30. Deery Series heads to Quad City Speedway for Sunday show

EAST MOLINE, Ill. – The Deery Brothers Summer Series looks for its fourth winner in as many 30th season shows this Sunday, when touring IMCA Late Models travel to Quad City Speedway. The May 1 main event at East Moline pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. It’s also the first time in the series’ 454-race history that an event has been held on May Day. While Denny Eckrich, Curt Martin and Scott Fitzpatrick own feature wins so far, it’s seven-time series champion Jeff Aikey who will take the Deery point lead to East Moline. Great Scott! Deery Series win at Hamilton County is first for Fitzpatrick

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (April 16) – Losing position helped make Scott Fitzpatrick a first-time Deery Brothers Summer Series feature winner. Fitzpatrick checked out on the rest of the IMCA Late Model field Saturday at Hamilton County Speedway. He’d started outside Chad Holladay on the front row, fell behind Darrel DeFrance and Todd Cooney, then put himself in position to take charge after Holladay suffered mechanical issues. “This was awesome,” Fitzpatrick said. “(Getting) This win was haunting me and I finally got it done in true fashion. There were some of the best IMCA drivers here. This win is very humbling.” The $2,000 victory came in Fitzpatrick’s 34th career Deery start and just his second at Webster City. Farley Deery checkers are first in a decade for Martin

FARLEY, Iowa (April 15) – A hero from the early days of the Deery Brothers Summer Series turned backed the clock Friday at Farley Speedway. Curt Martin led the last 35 of 50 laps in winning the IMCA Late Model tour feature and $2,000. Forty-two Late Models were entered. The 1990 and 1991 Deery champion had last won a series event in May of 2006 at the old Highway 3 Raceway in Allison. The Farley checkers, Martin’s tour career 26th, came in a car Doug Cue and Gene Budzine bought as a backup for Tyler Droste to run weekly at Independence Motor Speedway. MAQUOKETA, Iowa – An 18th date has been added to the Deery Brothers Summer Series. The IMCA Late Model tour is at Maquoketa Speedway for a $2,000 to win show on Wednesday, May 18. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds and local street stocks complete the mid-week program. Anderson answers call from IMCA to become Late Model director

MOLINE, Ill. – A phone call from a former national champion got Randy Anderson started as a local track tech inspector four years ago. When IMCA called late this fall, Anderson agreed to become the sanctioning body’s new Late Model director. He’ll travel to tracks that sanction the division weekly beginning in 2016 while continuing to oversee tech inspection at all Deery Brothers Summer Series events. “Late Models are a premier division. I take a lot of pride in teching and enforcing the rules,” said Anderson, from Moline, Ill. “I see this position as an opportunity to be a solid voice for the class. Cordes tops Hawkeye Dirt Tour finale, Brown earns IMCA Modified series title

FARLEY, Iowa (Sept. 19) – A season that’s seen its share of highs and lows saw another high spot Saturday for Troy Cordes. Cordes topped the 30-lap Hawkeye Dirt Tour feature for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds during the Yankee Dirt Track Classic at Farley Speedway. The win paid $2,000 and put him on the ballot for next September’s Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. “I’d started second but fell back to about fifth. The car was too tight at the beginning,” he said. “The track was slick, which was unbelievable for the amount of rain they’d had.” Cordes got back to third following a lap 18 restart, then passed Jason Schueller and Kyle Brown for the lead and eventual checkers. FARLEY, Iowa (Sept. 18) – Rain is the winner tonight at Farley Speedway. The evening’s Yankee Dirt Track Classic program, which was to have been headlined by the Deery Brothers Summer Series, has been canceled due to rain and wet track conditions. The complete Saturday program is still on as scheduled along with the addition of Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod qualifying. Hot laps are at 4:30 p.m. with racing to follow. Touring IMCA Late Models will chase checks of $7,500 to win and a minimum of $500 to start their 100-lap series finale tomorrow night while the Hawkeye Dirt Tour feature for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $175 to start.
