BEATRICE, Neb. – Jet Racing reaches one IMCA sponsorship milestone and nears another in 2016. This race season is the Beatrice, Neb., chassis builder’s fifth consecutive as title sponsor of IMCA’s Central Region for Modifieds. This is also the 19th straight year Jet has partnered with IMCA in providing cash or contingency awards. Owned by four-time IMCA Modified national champion Johnny Saathoff, Jet Racing backed spe­cial events and Stock Car and Hobby Stock regions before taking over title sponsorship of the Modified Central Region, which includes tracks in Arkansas, eastern Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma. A point fund totaling $6,000 will be paid to top 10 drivers in that region. The champion earns $2,500 and the runner-up $1,250, with $625 paid for third, $325 for fourth, $300 for fifth and $200 for sixth through 10th place. ABBOTT, Texas – The only title sponsor IMCA’s Sport Compact division has known returns to that role in 2016. Mach-1 Racing Solution again provides a portion of the $1,000 point fund to be paid to top 10 drivers in final national standings for the 4-cylinder class. The Gary Mach-owned company began giving Sport Compact contingencies in 2009 and became title sponsor for the class in 2011. This season is the third in a five-year sponsorship pact. Sport Compact champions were crowned at 40 tracks and in two special series, in 10 states in last year. One hundred and thirty-six different drivers have now won one or more of the nearly 250 track or special series titles awarded since IMCA began sanctioning Sport Compacts in 2006. KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The new race season is the second for Sweet Manufacturing as part of the national decal program for IMCA Modifieds. The Kalamazoo, Mich., company is manufacturer of the official steering box of IMCA and gives contingency awards to Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified and IMCA Late Model drivers again in 2016. Champions in each of the five Modified regions and the top driver in national Late Model point standings all earn steering boxes. Second through fifth place finishers in each Modified region receive $50 gift certificates. Sunoco, manufacturer of the official fuel of IMCA, provides a major portion of both the $5,000 point fund to be paid to top 15 drivers in national Stock Car standings and the $3,000 point fund for top 15 drivers in national Hobby Stock points. In addition to returning as title sponsor for the Southern SportMod class for a fourth consecutive season, the Lubbock, Texas, GM part retailer, Chevrolet engine dealer and certified engine rebuilder is part of the national decal program for Southern and Northern SportMods.
