IMCA Stock Cars new to Saturday shows at Southwest Speedway

DICKINSON, N.D. – Fans at Southwest Speedway can look forward to seeing IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars on a more regular basis. The Class Too Tough To Tame, a staple during annual Dakota Classic Tour visits for the past decade, joins Saturday night race programs at Dickinson beginning this season. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season for the sanctioned Stock Cars, IMCA Modifieds, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts runs from May 2 to Aug. 29. “We’re pretty amped up and ready to run the IMCA Stock Cars,” said promoter Luke Krogh. “We have a lot of fans who have only been able to see them once a year and I know the drivers are excited about it, too. US 36, Bethany drivers meetings rescheduled

OSBORN, Mo. – Due to forecasted winter weather, US 36 Raceway and Bethany Speedway officials have postponed the 2020 drivers’ meeting that was scheduled for Sunday. The new date, which will again serve as a meeting for both tracks, is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25 at 11 a.m. at the Cameron Community Center.

Springfield quick to resume racing Saturday night

By Ronnie Williams SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Quick-Quarter of the Springfield Raceway will be back in action Saturday night, Sept. 14 after taking off last weekend for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The tight IMCA Modified point battle between James Thompson and Jody Tillman will resume. Championship Night is Saturday at Bethany

By Rick Staley BETHANY, Mo. – This Saturday night, Sept. 14, the stars of Bethany Speedway will battle to the checkers for prestigious track championships in all divisions. IMCA Modified, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod champions will be crowned. Gates open at 5 p.m., the drivers’ meeting is at 6:45 p.m., hot laps are at 7:30 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. Pit passes are $35 and grandstand admission is $10 for adults while kids six years of age and under free.

US 36 Raceway to crown champions this Friday

The early part of the season was marred with rainouts and cancellations. As the season started to reach the end, drivers started to find a rhythm in the weekly schedule and the season-long battle is set to conclude this weekend for the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods. $1,000 to win Modified feature on July 25 card at US 30

COLUMBUS, Neb. – A top check for $1,000 and a spot on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot are on the line July 25 at US 30 Speedway. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both race for $600 to win at the RE/MAX Realty-sponsored Thursday night show. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks run for $450 to win, Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $200. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, E3 Spark Plugs Nebraska State and track points will be awarded. Dodge City Raceway Park mid-season championships this Saturday

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – The dirt will be flying at Dodge City Raceway Park this Saturday night as the 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas hosts the Mid-Season Championships. With the title chases all heating up, the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock will all battle it out. Saturday’s action that gets under way at 7:30 p.m. also offers $5 admission for those that are members of a church group and wearing their group’s apparel. Otherwise, general admission is $12 with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Maquoketa Speedway to host June 1 Stead Family Children’s Hospital Night

MAQUOKETA, Iowa – On Saturday, June 1, Trackside Promotions will hold a special night of racing at Maquoketa Speedway. It is to be declared UIHC Stead Family Children’s Hospital Night with special guest Ken Schrader. Mr. Jerre Stead was born and raised in Maquoketa. This will be the first major fundraiser since the opening of the Stead Family Children’s Hospital in 2017. Funds will be raised in Maquoketa, Trackside Promotion will be donating a portion of the front gate ticket sales, the Jackson County Fair Board will be donating percentage of the profit for the concessions and there will be a 50/50 raffle, along with a helmet collection by the drivers and their crews during intermission. Bar S Motorsports ready for 2019 race season

By Ben Deatherage ALBANY, Ore. – With the 2019 race season fast upon the state of Oregon, Bar S Motorsports is set for the new campaign. Once again twin brothers Dustin and Justin Cady will drive the house cars for the Albany-based IMCA Modified team. The drivers will venture all around the Pacific Northwest in hopes of building from a strong showing last year. “I’m really excited that we have a pretty good notebook going into this year,” commented Dustin. “I have high expectations for myself and I think we are going to do really well. 2019 racing season begins at Off Road Speedway

The best race of the night may have been the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature where Colby Langenberg overcame a starting assignment on the inside of the fourth row and a significant lead by Jeremy Gnat and Robbie Thome before securing the win on the final lap of the 20-lap event. “I kind of got caught up with a couple guys that were running side-by-side, so I couldn’t go anywhere,” Langenberg said. “Finally they separated, and I was able to shoot through.
