Sunset Speedway Park opens Saturday with Ladies’ Night 

By Ben Deatherage BANKS, Ore. – IMCA Modifieds are on the card when Sunset Speedway Park opens for the sea­son on Saturday, May 6. The first round of IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing action will be Lime-A-Rita Ladies’ Night where all ladies 18 years or older get into the races for $5. “The weather hasn’t been the kindest to us this year,” commented Nikki Gamell, Sunset manager. “We’re very excited to finally get some racing in. We also want to invite all those lovely ladies out there to come out and have some fun.” Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the front gate opens at 4 p.m. Racing kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $13 for adults, seniors, military and juniors ages 13-17 are $10, youth ages 6-12 are $5 and children five and under are free. Fifth annual IMCA Modified Stampede is Saturday at Dodge City

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – With the past weekend’s snow melted away, Dodge City Raceway Park fires back to life this Saturday night, May 6, with the fifth annual IMCA Modified Stampede. While the IMCA Modifieds battle it out for a $1,200 winner’s share in their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier, championship chase action continues as well for the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Racing action goes green at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are $15 for adults with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. A pair of bicycles will also be awarded to two fortunate children. Lee County paying $1,000 to May 4 winners in IMCA Modifieds, Stocks, Northern SportMods

DONNELLSON, Iowa – Checks for $1,000 go to feature winners in three IMCA divisions at Lee County Speedway’s Thursday, May 4 special. IMCA Modified, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main events all pay $1,000 to win while the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature pays $300 to win. The evening’s Modi­fied headliner is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, Allstar Performance State and track points will be awarded. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and racing follows 6:45 p.m. hot laps. 2017 IMCA Late Model season begins Friday at Davenport 

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Rob Toland will begin defense of his IMCA Late Model national champion­ship this Friday, April 28 at Davenport Speedway. Toland’s 2016 national title was his career third. His previous national crowns were in 2001 and 2005. He was also the track champion at Davenport last season. Late Models will use a draw/re-draw format. Davenport’s other weekly classes, the Ericksen Chevro­let IMCA Modifieds, the Koehler Electric Street Stocks, and the Hawkeye Auto IMCA SportMods, will be lined up by point average All races will be on the quarter-mile oval. Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport. Bike giveaways as DCRP action continues on Saturday

More of the same is expected with this Saturday’s Lewis Automotive Night of championship action at the state-of-the-art dirt track facility featuring IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Dacotah Speedway releases 2017 schedule


MANDAN, N.D. – Dacotah Speedway will celebrate its 28th season of racing starting Friday, May 5. The racing season is anticipated to be bigger and better as officials and volunteers have been working hard during the off-season to find ways to enhance the show in the best interest of the fans. Labeled the “Fastest Friday Night in Bismarck-Mandan,” races will start Friday nights at 7 p.m. with plans to wave the checkered flag around 10 p.m. “We know our fans work hard during the week and their time is valuable. So during the off-season, a small group of volunteers met regularly to find ways to speed up the show. Atomic track champion will be first crowned in Ohio by IMCA RaceSaver

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – IMCA will crown its first-ever RaceSaver Sprint Car track champion as well as a series champion in Ohio this season. Atomic Speedway hosted the first of nine events on April 9; points races there April 22, May 20, June 24, July 22 and Aug. 5, 25 and 26, and Sept. 23 also figure toward determining that first champion. The June 24 event is during Ohio Sprint Speedweek and will be broadcast on the internet. The Aug. 26 Open Wheel Championship feature pays $600 to win. Eight Ohio Thunder Sprint Series dates are now on the schedule – at least one more will be added, at a location to be announced – at Atomic, Moler Raceway Park, Southern Ohio Speedway and Hilltop Speedway. DUNDEE, N.Y. – Outlaw Speedway’s Spring Nationals sports a $1,200 IMCA Modified main event and a couple opportunities for drivers to pick up some extra cash on opening night. The Friday, April 21 headliner is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern Region, Allstar Performance State and track points will be awarded. Willamette Speedway ready for April 15 season opener

Opening night and Easter Eggs at Dodge City this Saturday

It will be a great night for the kids eight and under with an Easter Egg hunt to celebrate the weekend and it will be a great night of entertainment for kids and adults alike with the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks all battling it out in the opening leg of the chase for the championship.
