Weekly racing resumes Sunday at Seymour

By Dave Panske SEYMOUR, Wis. – Weekly racing action resumes Sunday night, May 3 at Seymour  Speedway. All five divisions will be in action on the 1/3-mile banked clay oval. Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars, O’Reilly Auto Parts IMCA Northern SportMods, Turbo Blue Street Stocks and 4 Cylinders will be joined by the spectator eliminators for the first time this season. Shiocton Automotive and DA Swamp are title sponsors for the activities. WAPL 105.7 will also be at the track doing a live remote from 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. with racing at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

IMCA Modifieds race for $650 to win at Sunset Speedway Park 

By Ben Deatherage BANKS, Ore. – This Saturday, May 2, Sunset Speedway Park will host the third race of the sea­son. The Budweiser IMCA Modifieds will be back after a week off and race for $650 to win. With just one Modified event completed this season, Collen Winebarger is the only driver to have won at SSP in 2015.  With $650 up for grabs for the winner it should attract some top tier talent throughout the state of Oregon to the “Banks Bullring.” Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the front gate opens at 4 p.m. Racing starts at 6:30 p.m.

Princeton opens May 1 with IMCA Modifieds, Northern SportMods, Sport Compacts

PRINCETON, Minn. – Three IMCA divisions will have another regular weekly home in central Minnesota, when Princeton Speedway opens for the season on May 1. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts run on Fridays on the quarter-mile Mille Lacs County Fairgrounds dirt venue. IMCA Eagle Motor Sports Sprint Cars join May 15, June 26, July 24 and Sept. 18 shows at Prince­ton. The IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season concludes with the Sept. 25 and 26 P-Town Showdown special. “I really like the way IMCA programs are run,” said promoter and general manager Mary Beth Cripe. “IMCA puts the drivers first. Season opener set for Friday at Davenport Speedway

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The battle for the Davenport Speedway track championships begins this Friday, April 24, with the Koehler Electric-sponsored season opener. All five weekly classes – the Milan Heating & Air IMCA Modifieds, Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Models, Hawkeye Auto IMCA Northern SportMods, Koehler Electric Street Stocks and Roto-Rooter 4-Stocks, will be in action on the 1/4-mile dirt oval. Defending track champions are Doug Crampton, Modified; Justin Kay, Late Model; Bryce Garnhart, Northern SportMod; Donnie Louck, street stock; and Brandon Dahl, 4-stock. Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport. Night number two of season Saturday at Sunset Speedway Park

Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods will tackle the 1/4-mile clay oval for the first time in 2015. Along with the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series, other divisions making their way to the Banks Bullring include the street stocks, pure stocks and 4-bee’s. Willamette practices Friday, races on Saturday

By Ben Deatherage LEBANON, Ore. – Willamette Speedway will be a busy place this weekend with events scheduled for Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25. An open test and tune session runs from 4 p.m. to dusk on Friday. Grandstand admission is free. Pit passes are $15 and car and driver is $30. On Saturday, the historic 1/3-mile clay oval will be back to racing. Classes in action will include the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, super sports, sportsman and street stocks. The Modifieds were apart of the April 11th event that was rained out partway through the program so it will technically be their first race of the season. Pit gates open at 1 p.m., the drivers’ meeting is at 2:30 p.m., front gates open at 3:30 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m.

Thunderhill Raceway ready for opening night

By Edward Anschutz STURGEON BAY, Wis. – Thunderhill Raceway is ready for its first point night of the season this Saturday, April 25. Racing starts at 6 p.m. for Kelsey Racing IMCA Modifieds, Rouer’s Grand Slam IMCA Stock Cars, LaVine’s Ice IMCA Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Street stocks and thunder trucks will also be in action. Each class will host a solid base of veterans and newcomers as there are numerous rookies look­ing to make their mark in the sport while chasing shares of $40,500 in local contingencies. Dodge City Raceway Park to make up rained out IMCA Modified feature 

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – Mother Nature threatened throughout the April 11 season-opening tilt at Dodge City Raceway Park. With threatening dark skies to the west as the green flag flew on the night’s first Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Car heat race to kick off then night, the night was in jeopardy throughout. Dodging the inclement weather most of the night, it wasn’t until the night’s final feature race was set to roll out that Mother Nature finally unleashed her wrath with storms hitting the 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas. The upside is that four of five divisions were able to complete their opening night festivities. Spring Roundup starts new season at Electric City Speedway

Spring Roundup starts new season at Electric City Speedway GREAT FALLS, Mont. – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds headline both nights of the Friday and Saturday, April 24-25 Spring Roundup special at Electric City Speedway. Both features pay $500 to win and a minimum of $75 to start. Twenty cars take the green flag in each main event. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded. Rains cancel Saturday practice at Salina 

By Dusty Wiegert SALINA, Kan. – Heavy showers have canceled the open practice session scheduled for Saturday, April 18 at Salina Speedway. With the cancellation, the first event of the season will be the Browynn Birdsong Childhood Cancer Awareness Night and season opener on Friday, April 24. The evening will feature fundraising for the Birdsong family along with seven divisions of racing action.
