Albert Auto Night this Sunday, May 25 at Benton County Speedway

By Ryan Clark VINTON, Iowa – In what has become one of the most anticipated events of the season at Benton County Speedway, Albert Auto Service returns to sponsor the weekly racing program this Sunday, May 25, in Vinton. Prizes and increased purse money will be up for grab throughout the evening during the company’s third straight year of sponsorship at the speedway. Albert Auto Service is offering up a number of great prizes for race fans, including a TV, grill, tools, battery charger, four $50 gift certificates to Fareway, plus several other gift certificates. Drivers competing Sunday night will also be racing for additional prize money in both heat race qualifiers and feature events. I-35 preps for Skip Rose Memorial, XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour opener

MASON CITY, Iowa – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified drivers will have two opportunities to take home $1,000 checks during the Memorial holiday at I-35 Speedway. Both the Sunday, May 25 Skip Rose Memorial and Monday, May 26 XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour features at Mason City pay $1,000 to win and are qualifying events for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win Saturday at Heart O’ Texas

WACO, Texas – Heart O’ Texas Speedway starts the Memorial Weekend with a $1,000 to win feature for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds this Saturday night, May 24. The Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier pays $400 for second place, $300 for third, $200 for fourth, $150 for fifth, $100 for sixth, $70 for seventh, $60 for eighth and a minimum of $50 to start. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods both race for $500 to win and a minimum of $50 to start. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks chase a $300 top prize. Saturday showcase for IMCA Stock Cars at Independence Motor Speedway

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – The first of four Saturday Showcase events of the season is scheduled for this Saturday, May 24 at Independence Motor Speedway. The program, which will feature increased prize money for a select division one week every month, puts the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars in the spotlight this Saturday night. Drivers in that division will compete for a $500 winner’s share. The Stock Cars, along with the four other weekly divisions – IMCA Late Models, Performance Bodies IMCA Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks – are scheduled to compete for the fifth night of weekly racing this season. Stock Cars have averaged over 17 cars through the first four weeks of the year at Independence, the most since the end of the 2006 season. Trailer Race of Destruction, IMCA Stock Cars $750 to win Friday at Luxemburg

This Friday, May 23, Trailer Race participants will take to the track at the end of the show at Luxemburg Speedway to put on a party for the fans. Coopman collects 100th Sport Compact checkers

MANKATO, Minn. (May 18) – After winning the 100th Mach-1 Sport Compact feature of his career, Nate Coopman did the logical thing. He went out and won his 101st. Coopman became the first driver in division with triple digit wins, sweeping the make-up and scheduled features Sunday at Redwood Speedway. DONNELLSON, Iowa – Lee County Speedway gets a jump on the upcoming holiday with its Thursday, May 22 Memorial Day Weekend Kickoff. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds race for $500 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for $400, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $250 and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $150. Herrick, Dancer, Bond, Jones win on opening night at North Platte

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (May 17) – Getting the season started off right Saturday at Lincoln County Raceway were the IMCA quartet of Bryan Herrick, Mikey Dancer, Kyle Bond and Tanner Jones. Herrick led the final five laps of the feature for Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods after starting in the fifth row. Dillon Schultz had snared the lead at the end of lap six from his brother Zach Schultz, who retired from the feature with mechanical issues; Dillon held on to earn runner-up honors. AZTEC, N.M. – Touring IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and IMCA SportMods get top bill­ing at Aztec Speedway’s Friday and Saturday, May 23-24 Ryan Bard Memorial. Cronin motors to Sport Compact win at Eagle

(May 17) – Larry Cronin overcame engine problems endured earlier in the season to win the Sam’s Club IMCA Sport Compact main on Armed Forces Night at Eagle Raceway. “The engine finally held together. This is my third engine this year after I blew up the first two,” he said. “Hopefully, we can get a couple more wins this year.” Benji Legg’s third NAPA IMCA Northern SportMod victory of the season might have been the most thrilling as he grabbed the lead on a green, white, checkered finish.
