Springfield celebrates holiday weekend with IMCA Modifieds, fireworks

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Following a rainout last Saturday, officials at the Quick-Quarter of Springfield Raceway have announced final details for the Firefall Fireworks Spectacular event this Saturday, July 3 with IMCA Modifieds presented by Bad Boy Mowers competing in a $500 to win, $100 to start scheduled 20 lap feature. Pit gates open at 12:15 p.m. with driver cutoff set for 4:05 p.m. and racing action slated for 4:45 p.m.  To help celebrate our nation’s Independence Holiday, a large fireworks show will add to the excitement. $1,000 top check, All-Star berth for IMCA Modifieds at stake July 4 at Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa – A $1,000 to win, Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event for IMCA Modifieds is now scheduled this Sunday at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway.  IMCA Sunoco Late Models, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks are also on the July 4 ticket and all divisions will be draw/redraw. The Fast-Shafts qualifying event for Modifieds was rained out and rescheduled from last Sunday. Pit gates and the grandstand open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with racing to follow. Pit passes are $30 or $15 for kids ages 7-13 and free for six and under. Spectator admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors ages 65 and up, $6 for student ages 13-17 and free for kids 12 and under accompanying a paid adult. Fair races on July 28 and Aug. 1 also pay the Modifieds $1,000 to win.

Festive July 4 set for Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa – With both attempts at holding the Benton County Fair races washed out, the focus now shifts to Sunday, July 4 at Benton County Speedway. And it’s going to be big. As part of “A Celebration at The Bullring” on the Independence Day holiday, the speedway will host weekly racing in all five divisions, plus the Lil’ Racer Car Club benefit raffle. A giant fireworks display will close out the holiday program following the races. Weekly racing will feature KISS Country 96.5 IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Albert Auto Service, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks presented by Kwik Star, Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods presented by Christie Door Company and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts presented by Auto Crafters. $750 is top IMCA Stock Car prize Saturday at Indee

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $750 to win on Crawford Farms Hall of Fame Night Saturday at Independence Motor Speedway. A qualifier for the B & B Chassis All-Star Invitational and sponsored by J&V NAPA Auto Parts, the feature pays $100 to start. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods race for $500 to win and $100 to start, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $300 to win and $75 to start. IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Late Models are also on the June 19 card.  This year’s Hall of Fame class includes Paul Fitzpatrick, Bob Hilmer, Karl Sanger, Bill Barthelmes, Don Bedard, Tiny Russell and Gordon Bentley. Green flag flies again Friday night at Hancock County Speedway

BRITT, Iowa – Racing returns to Hancock County Speedway Friday night, with five IMCA divisions on the June 11 card.  The Hancock County District Fair Board has taken over promotion of weekly events, slated to feature IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts, for the remainder of the season.  “We would like to thank Ryan, Holly and Daryl for all of the work they have put into the track for the past year and a half,” said Ryan Hiscocks, a fair board director. “The facility is in great shape. Willamette Speedway returns to racing this Saturday

By Ben Deatherage  LEBANON, Ore. – Willamette Speedway will be back in action this weekend with IMCA Modifieds and Mach-1 Sport Compacts on the Saturday, June 12 card. Racing kicks off at 6 p.m. Online tickets will be available for purchase on the website and will be $15 for adults, juniors ages 13-17, seniors 62 and over and military are $12, kids ages 6-12 are $5 and five and under is free. Pit passes are $40 as is the car and driver fee. Willamette Speedway is now under the management of co-owner Jimmy Schram, a long-time racer at the Lebanon facility and across the Pacific Northwest in Super Late Models and IMCA Modifieds. Schram is a former Super Sport champion at the track, winning the title in 2007.  The 1/3-mile clay oval last hosted an event on October 24th of last year for the Ice Cube Cup. IMCA Modifieds back in action Saturday at Springfield

SPRINGFIELD,  Mo. – After getting a night off last weekend, the IMCA Modifieds presented by Bad Boy Mowers will be back in action this Saturday at Springfield Raceway with a tight battle for the top of the point standings between former track champion James Thompson, a two-time feature winner this season, and the most previous feature winner Jackie Dalton.   Despite missing the opening race, Dalton has climbed up the ladder and is only 16 points behind Thompson.  A multi-time track champion, Dalton seems to be hitting strides in this car while Thompson is known for making a late race charge for the win.  Racing action starts at 6:45 p.m. while the pit gates open at 3 p.m. The grandstands open at 5  p.m. For more information, visit the Facebook page or the track website at www.SpringfieldRaceway.com.

Dodge City Raceway Park preps for Driver/Fan Appreciation

By Whitney Hodgin DODGE CITY, Kan. – The June 4 weekend is shaping up to be a big one at Dodge City Raceway Park, where more than $35,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded on Driver/Fan Appreciation night along with the Boot Hill Championship two-day pointed event for IMCA Modified and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod divisions.  DCRP expects a packed house for the Driver/Fan Appreciation Friday night. On Driver Appreciation night, drivers are challenged to give away tickets to the races in a competition to be eligible for a drawing for prizes. Friday will also kick-off the first of a two-night special for the Modifieds and Northern SportMods.  “The format for this special event will be a draw, re-draw which mixes things up and makes for some exciting racing,” Director Craig Dollansky said. Stock Cars vie for $1,250 winner’s share May 23 at Benton County

VINTON, Iowa – A payday of all-star proportions will be on the line Sunday night at Benton County Speedway. The quarter-mile Bullring will offer up $1,250 to the feature winner of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Albert Auto in an event that will also serve as a qualifier for the inaugural IMCA Stock Car All-Star Invitational at this year’s IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. There is no entry fee for the draw/redraw event, which also offers free pit entry to Stock Car drivers making their first visit to the Bullring this season. The main event pays $100 to start.
