
Three first time winners at I-35 Speedway
By Greg Grabianowski MASON CITY, Iowa (Aug. 25) – In the last night of dirt track racing at I-35 Speedway before next week’s season championships, three different drivers earned their first feature victories of 2013 at the half-mile oval. Jesse Brown outlasted John Campbell and Heath Tulp to grab his first-ever IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win. Brown took full advantage of his outside front row starting position. This is Brown’s second season in the division and he had not placed in the top four previously at I-35 this season. Campbell finished second with Tulp placing third; Chris Adams took fourth and point-leader Travis Shipman rounded out the top five. Matt White survived a wild last lap, four-car battle to earn his first victory of the year in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.
