Seidler scores first IMCA Stock Car win on Hall of Fame Night at Mandan

By Becca Pelkey MANDAN, N.D. (July 19, 2024) – Hall of Fame Night Friday brought Hall of Famers to the track, to watch future Hall of Famers race at Dacotah Speedway. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds had a make-up feature from June 28. Jacoby Traut and Crist Pittenger led the field to the green flag. Traut led early while Pittenger had his hands full with Quentin Kinzley. Although Kinzley appeared to be faster, he struggled to get around the young driver. They battled door-to-door for second place until Kinzley took the position and set his sights on Traut. Once again, Kinzley struggled to get around Traut but practiced patience on the young driver. With 12 laps to go, Kinzley overtook the top spot and pulled away. Kinzley went on to win his third straight victory at Dacotah Speedway. Shawn Strand finished second ahead of Mark Dahl. Faulkner paces IMCA Modifieds at Petaluma

(July 20, 2024) – Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds were back in action Saturday at Petaluma Speedway and Jeff Faulkner was the winner when the checkered flag waved at the 3/8-mile clay oval. Anthony Slaney jumped to the front on the opening start, but the caution flag came out twice with just one lap completed, eliminating Slaney’s advantage. On the second restart, Faulkner bounced back from his first stoppage spin, which occurred while he was running second, to obtain fourth from Michelle Byron. Just up the road, the race for second intensified with Michael Paul Jr. overtaking Tim Yaeger, with a few laps complete before Faulkner got around. Slaney checked out from the rest of the pack as Paul, Yaeger and Faulkner battled. Smith wins Jess Weishaar Memorial race

By Greg Grabianowski Sports Editor ALGONA, Iowa (July 18, 2024) – Mike Smith won the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature to highlight an exciting night of dirt track racing for the Jess Weishaar Memorial held at the Kossuth County Speedway Thursday night. It was the first time this season there was racing at the speedway two weeks in a row as everyone got ready for the annual Salute to Veterans race on July 25. The Hobby Stock feature was the featured event of the evening as 22 cars battled for a $1,000 first place check and a guaranteed $100 to start the race. Jeremy Wegner was the first lap leader as Cody Hubbell took over the top spot on the next lap before the first yellow flag as race came out after Smith and Hubbell spun out and collected five other cars. Miles brothers dominate Hobby Stock special at Maquoketa

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (July 20, 2024)– The Maquoketa Speedway hosted Eastern Iowa Garage Door Night at the races on Saturday with a special event for the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. One hundred and ten race teams packed the pit area and provided an action packed night of racing. The Hobby Stocks were the featured division with a $1,000 to win main event that also carried an additional $780 in lap money. The 25-car starting field took the green flag with Karter Miles setting the pace from his pole position start. Karter led for several laps while his brother Jordan worked to the front from his third row start. Jordan Miles was involved in an incident early in the race that sent him to the rear. The incident lit a fire and Jordan quickly worked back through the field and set up a challenge for the lead with his younger brother. James, Ray, Bryant are first in Friday features at Douglas County

By Ben Deatherage ROSEBURG, Ore. (July 19, 2024) – The Douglas County Dirtrack had a loaded card of racing on Friday, with IMCA wins gong to Bricen James, Daniel Ray and Burnie Bryant. The race was off to an exciting start as Bennett Bray took the lead in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main. However, a caution slowed the pace on lap two and on the restart, James seized became the new leader. Pope got up to second in his IMCA Modified debut in the Grey and Kersey Ferrando-fielded entry a few circuits in. Eventually, the race for second became a maelstrom involving Pope, Trevor La Barge, Carter Patterson and Grey Ferrando. Patterson was able to move into the position by lap six. A pair of yellows with eight laps down kept everyone on their toes. As the race progressed, Ferrando made an excellent restart, attempting to challenge James for the lead. Murty is King of the Katwalks winner at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 20, 2024) – Fans were treated to some great racing at Iowa’s Action Track on Saturday night, which at times provided three and four wide racing. The main attraction of the night at Boone Speedway was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars with the running of the $5,000 to win King of the Katwalks and the “Game Changer,” Dallon Murty walked away with that crown. Fifty-one Stock Cars checked in for the night to try their hand at winning the $5,000. The King of the Katwalks was presented by Van Eaton Pork & Fox Welding/Vermeer. The 28-car starting field for the 40-lap feature was determined by heat winners and passing points through the heats, plus four provisionals were added on to the back of the starting grid. Rhodes repeats as PASS ‘Power’ winner

(July 19, 2024) – Thanks to a couple of rainouts, it took the River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series until midseason to make its first appearance at its oldest stop, the quarter-mile Path Valley Speedway bullring, but Zach Rhodes and his fellow IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car competitors made sure the large crowd remembered why PASS keeps coming back. The McVeytown driver fought his way past Mike Alleman to take the lead with five laps remaining in the 25-lap feature and won the PASS portion of the special Dr. Crouse’s Night of Power program for the second consecutive year. The margin of victory was three-quarters of a second. Doug Dodson, who charged from 10th starting, also got past Alleman on the next-to-last lap and finished second, while Alleman, who was oh-so-close to his first feature victory since taking his only career checkered flag at this track 23 years ago, came home third. Friday is a night for the record book as Ward takes 100th IMCA Modified win at Marshalltown

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 19, 2024) – Marshalltown Speedway was back on its regular Friday night of racing this week and it was one for the record books as Tim Ward captured his career 100th Friesen Performance IMCA Modified victory. Kaden Reynolds got out in front and was gone in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature and Brayton Carter had no trouble in snagging the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod victory. It was Calvin Dhondt adding to his list of wins in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks as did Cristian Grady in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts and Dillon Raffurty made the trip up from Kansas City, Missouri pay off when he saw checkers in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Simmons wins IMCA Modified thriller at CJ

The racing was excellent on a smooth slick race track which provided multiple groove racing all night. The headliner of the night was the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature that provided close racing and a very close finish. Kolton Osborn and his team make the long tow from Janesville every Friday to race and the youngster is yet to win his first feature at CJ but has been knocking on the door to victory lane many times. Osborn shot to the front from his sixth position start, overtook early leader Barry Dugan and appeared to be on his way to his first CJ victory. Jerovetz is back for win at Britt, Krug is IMCA Hobby Stock Titan

By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (July 19, 2024) – Troy Jerovetz continues to be a fan of Hancock County Speedway. A winner at Britt earlier in the season, he claimed the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature event Friday night. A caution erased his 2.5 second lead and Jerovetz had to hold off a charging Kelly Shryock and Colby Fett. Justin Ades rounded out the top four. Early in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature, a three-wide battle between Zane DeVilbiss, Jeremy Mills and Todd Steinhart saw contact between DeVilbiss and Mills. The result of the slight contact had Mills spinning and bringing out a yellow. When the race concluded, DeVilbiss went on to win over Izac Mallicoat and Kelly Shryock.
