Elk City is latest Oklahoma track to sanction with IMCA

ELK CITY, Okla. – A dozen Sunday shows are on the schedule this season at newly-sanctioned Elk City Speedway. First track points for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars at the western Oklahoma venue will be awarded April 12. “We want to keep this track open and help spread IMCA across Oklahoma,” explained promoter Paul Vines. The municipally owned 3/8-mile clay venue is a sister track to Outlaw Motor Speedway, which will run on Fridays, and Longdale Speedway, which will run on Saturdays. Elk City concludes its first IMCA season with the Winter Nationals special on Oct. 30-31. Five race nights are on the schedule for each of three local classes at Elk City, where expansion plans are already in the works for 2016. Aero Race Wheels rewards IMCA special events drivers, state champions

ESTHERVILLE, Iowa – Aero Race Wheels rewards special event drivers and state champions in five IMCA divisions again this season. The Estherville, Iowa, manufacturer gives $40 product certificates good toward the purchase of two wheels to designated place finishers at 80 specials for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods. Each of the 70-plus Allstar Performance state champions in the same divisions will receive $25 product certificates. Nine dates for new IMCA Sprint Series of Nebraska 

EAGLE, Neb. (March 26) – Opening night for the inaugural Sprint Series of Nebraska comes on night two of Eagle Raceway’s Ice Breaker Challenge. The Saturday, April 18 main event for touring IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Cars pays $1,000 to win. Another eight dates are on the 2015 schedule, including Fridays, April 24 and Sept. 11 at Eagle. Thursday shows at U.S. 30 Speedway in Columbus are May 7, June 4 and Aug. 13. Butler County Speedway at Rising City hosts the Friday, June 19 event and the series is at Beatrice Speedway on Sunday, July 26. The finale is Thursday, Sept. 17 at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood. Standard payout for series events is $700 to win and a minimum of $250 to start. IMCA Sprint Car rookie of the year award new from Brodix 

MENA, Ark. – A long-time backer of the IMCA Late Model division adds an award for the top rookie driver in the winged division this season. The national IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Car rookie of the year receives a set of spec cylinder heads from Brodix of Mena, Ark. April 4 opener takes Deery Series to Crawford County Speedway

DENISON, Iowa – More than two decades after its only previous visit, the Deery Brothers Sum­mer Series returns to Crawford County Speedway on Saturday, April 4. Opening night for the IMCA Late Model tour brings the series back to Denison for the first time since July 28 of 1994. Gary Webb of Blue Grass was the winner that evening, earning the second in what became a record four straight feature victories and eventually the first of three career tour championships. The Deery show scheduled last April at Crawford County was rained out. “With the blast of unseasonably mild weather recently, we’re optimistic about the series opener in Denison,” said Tour Director Kevin Yoder. “Once we get that event in we’ll be off and running with what promises to be another outstanding series.” The main event pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. 281 switches Spring Fling to April 25, 26

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The Spring Fling originally planned for this weekend at 281 Speedway has been rescheduled for Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26. Inclement weather, wet track conditions and a wet and windy forecast prompted the change of dates. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts will race both days at Stephenville. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. On Sunday, gates open at 1 p.m., the grandstand opens and hot laps start at 3 p.m. and racing is at 4 p.m. All applicable IMCA points will be awarded. There is no registration fee and pit passes are $30. Spectator admission is $10 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6-12 and free for youngsters five and under.
