Championships determined tonight at Salina

(Sept. 27) – A full season has been nearly completed for the third straight year at the Salina Speedway as tonight’s (Friday) championship night showcases a long summer of achievements with the crowning of six out of seven division champions. Joe Cleveland will capture his second championship in a row in the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified division by starting his heat race. The battle will be for second as Corey Lagroon and Brian Knoell are separated by only one point. Mike Traskowsky is looking forward to capturing his second championship in three years in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock division. Aaron McBride, his closest contender, is still within striking distance, but would need to finish 14 positions in front of Traskowsky to capture the title. Oshkosh sanctions Stock Cars with IMCA starting in 2014

OSHKOSH, Wis. – Oshkosh Speedzone will add IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars to regular Friday night race programs next season. “There have been many drivers asking us to sanction the Stock Cars with IMCA and we are going to do just that,” track promoter/partner Larry Stratton said. “Stock Cars will give the Speedzone a well rounded field of cars. They are a growing class and we feel they will be a perfect fit to the Speedzone program.” Points earned at Oshkosh will figure toward IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Arnold Motor Supply Northern Region and Allstar Performance State standings. Oshkosh also sanctioned the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods this year. The 2014 race season kicks off Saturday April 19, with the fastest cars on dirt. 2013 IMCA point season ends Sunday, Sept. 29

VINTON, Iowa (Sept. 25) – The 2013 IMCA weekly point season ends this Sunday, Sept. 29. Final races are scheduled for the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified, IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Car, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMod and Mach-1 Sport Compact classes, as well as West Coast Super Stocks. No events, weekly or special, rained out this weekend will be allowed to be rescheduled and run for points. Information released Wednesday stating that regular season championship programs would be made up for points in the first week of October was incorrect. EUNICE, N.M. – Four IMCA divisions run both nights of Cardinal Speedway’s Blake Raulston Memorial this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27 and 28. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds race for $400 to win Friday and for $1,000 to win in their Saturday night Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods both chase $300 top checks on Friday and $750 prizes on Saturday. Yeager, who started ninth in the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified 30-lapper on Friday night, reeled in leader Jake Donnelly in the waning laps. That pair, along with Zane DeVilbiss, battled for the top spot before Yeager broke free with two laps to go and went on to collect the $750 winner’s share. Donnelly, DeVilbiss, Casey Delp and Greg Scott were next across the stripe. Yeager got to the front a little earlier during Saturday’s 30-lapper. From a seventh place start, Yeager worked around front row starter DeVilbiss on the fourth circuit, then drove away to the $2,000 victory and earned a spot on the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. WWMT All-Star Race set for Oct. 4, 5 at Millard County

DELTA, Utah – The 2013 EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Modified Tour All-Star Race will be held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4 and 5 at Millard County Raceway. The special is presented by Hansen Web-Design, Forty laps is the distance for IMCA SportMods on Friday and 50 laps is the distance for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds on Saturday. During both races, the field will stop at halfway for fuel only and the field may be shuffled for the last half. A drawing on the front stretch will determine the positions that will be shuffled. Thies tops South Dakota Fall Nationals at Raceway Park

JEFFERSON, S.D. (Sept. 21) – As the season ended at Raceway Park on Saturday night, Jim Thies was the big winner of the $1,000-to-win WinnaVegas South Dakota Fall Nationals. In the Professional Concrete IMCA Modified main event, 2013 track champion Thies got to the front in the early laps and held off Ricky Stephan and Jason Schneiders for the top prize.
