Shryock is double winner at Kossuth County

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (June 10) – Just four weeks into the 2021 racing season, several drivers have been very dominant at Kossuth County Speedway. That trend continued on Thursday as Kaytee Devries won her fourth feature of the year at the track, Alec Fett earned his sixth overall feature win of the season and Kelly Shryock was a double winner.  Jeff Feaster and Rob Hughes led the IMCA Modified field to the flag stand for the green flag as Hughes was the early leader. An early caution flag on lap number five bunched the field back up as Hughes was still the leader at the point of the race. The restart saw Hughes continue to lead but Jeremy Mills and Shryock were lurking, looking for their opportunity to strike. At the halfway point of the race, Shryock used the high side of the track to slide past Hughes and was not threatened after that as he won his second feature of the summer at the track.  Mills took second with Hughes placing third [Read More]

Hebbe conquers IMCA Stock Car competition at Outagamie Speedway

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 11) – Larry Karcz Jr. held court early in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature Friday at Outagamie Speedway as he ran the top groove with Kevin Hebbe giving chase. Midway through the contest, Hebbe pulled even with Karcz. The duo battled door-to-door with Hebbe taking the top spot on lap 12. Karcz stayed within striking distance but in the end, it was Hebbe besting a solid field of cars for his first win of the season. Karcz had to settle for second at the pay window. Brandon Czarapata was third, Rod Snellenberger took fourth and Logan Leary completed the top. In the IMCA Modifieds, Lucas Lamberies threaded the needle from his second row starting spot to make a three-wide pass for the lead on the opening lap. Lamberies pulled away from the field, dominating the event. When the checkers fell it was Lamberies taking home the win by a margin of eight seconds. Marcus Yarie was second, Tim Robbins had his best finish of the year to place third, Cody [Read More]

Banks breaks dry spell At CJ Speedway

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (June 11) – Friday night racing action at CJ Speedway saw one of the track’s most popular drivers break a long dry spell as Brandon Banks made his way to victory lane in the IMCA Modified feature. Banks debuted a new car a week ago and the first night out was spent working the kinks out. Banks has now sent notice to the rest of the Modified drivers that he will be in contention for the win the rest of the 2021 season. He shot out front early from a second row start and appeared to be on cruise control. That was certainly not the case as Jarrett Brown and Derrick Stewart worked through the field and pressured Banks in the late going. Brown was able to pull alongside Banks late in the race but Banks held off Brown and Stewart for the win.  Defending IMCA Sunoco Stock Car track champion Adam Bell raced to his first win of the 21 season. Bell used the entire track on his [Read More]
