Schoenfeld renews special events awards, returns to decal program for IMCA Modifieds

VAN BUREN, Ark. – The company IMCA drivers have depended on for more than two decades returns in a pair of invaluable sponsorship roles this season. Schoenfeld Headers, manufacturer of the Official Mufflers of IMCA, gives $50 product certificates to competitors at 80 designated special events for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Late Models, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods. The 22-year IMCA sponsor is also part of the national decal program for Modifieds and drivers in that division must display two Schoenfeld decals on their race car to be eligible for shares of national and regional point funds. All Schoenfeld certificates will be mailed within a week after official race results are received at the IMCA home office. Racing canceled at US 36 Raceway for May 15

OSBORN, Mo. – Due to overnight rains, US 36 Raceway officials have canceled racing for May 15. US 36 Raceway officials do not want the track to break up and after last week feel it is in the best interest of our racers and teams to cancel today’s race. This upcoming week, US 36 Raceway is bringing in a crew and equipment to help completely rework the racetrack to improve the racing surface before the next event. Ruter takes over as promoter at home track Hancock County Speedway

BRITT, Iowa – Ryan Ruter begins his promotional career this season at the same track he started racing. Five IMCA divisions on Crawford County opening night card

DENISON, Iowa – Five IMCA divisions see action under the Friday night lights when Crawford County Speedway hosts its opening night event of 2020. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts run at Denison on May 15, chasing IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, state and track points. A maximum of 10 people can accompany each race car and pit passes will be purchased at the pit gate; driver sign-in will be completed at the score tower. Sprint Series of Nebraska, Fast Shafts qualifier for IMCA Modifieds on Friday ticket at US 36 Raceway

OSBORN, Mo. – This Friday, May 15, U.S. 36 Raceway welcomes the Sprint Series of Nebraska for its first appearance of 2020. U.S. 36 has also added a $1,000 to win, Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying IMCA Modified show to the night’s events. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are also racing. U.S. 36 Raceway officials are monitoring the weather forecast and will keep teams and fans updated on the status of the event. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. with the grandstands opening at 6 p.m. Hot laps are at 7:30 and the first race hits the track at 8 p.m. Tickets for the event are $20 for general admission, $18 for senior and military and children 12 and younger are free. Green flag flies Friday at Davenport Speedway

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The first green flag of the season flies this Friday at Davenport Speedway, with three IMCA divisions on the May 15 card. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Late Models and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods will be featured at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, state at track points will be awarded. No spectators will be allowed in the grandstand and a maximum of 10 people will be allowed with each car in the pit area. Social distancing will be in effect and track officials recommend that masks be worn when drivers and/or crew are away from their area in the pits. IMCA addresses awarding of points despite participation restrictions

VINTON, Iowa – IMCA points will be awarded at sanctioned events with limits on entry numbers beginning this weekend. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, state and track points will be given at those events as of May 15. “We are seeing more tracks with restrictions placed on them on state and local levels regarding their number of participants,” explained IMCA President Brett Root. “We have always had an unwritten policy against awarding points at events that limited entries, especially at track championship nights late in the point season when drivers were still competing for state, regional and national titles.” “This is a season like none of us have experienced, however,” he continued. “We will give track, state, regional and national points for races held beginning this Friday regardless of any restrictions placed on the number of participants.” That policy will likely remain in place through the end of the point season this fall.
