IMCA Modified crown jewel Clash at the Creek is June 19-20 at 141

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. – Ten thousand dollars is the top prize at 141 Speedway’s June 19 and 20 Clash at the Creek special for IMCA Modifieds. Both the purse and the quality of competition have made the Clash one of the crown jewels for IMCA Modifieds and the 11th annual event is sure to be one of the best. Ken Schrader returns to the field for the rich Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier, which will pay a minimum of $750 to start. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods race for $1,000 to win both nights at Francis Creek. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, and E3 Spark Plugs Wisconsin State points will be awarded. Admission free Saturday at Perris for kids in Little League, Scout uniforms

PERRIS, Calif. – All kids wearing little league or scout uniforms will be admitted free to this Saturday’s event at Perris Auto Speedway. As soon as the last preliminary race is over, drivers will bring their cars onto the front straightaway and all kids, whether they are wearing a uniform or not, will be allowed onto the track to collect candy, get autographs and take photos. At the end of intermission, all the kids will go back into the stands to watch the main events. “The kids always have a great time at the races,” promoter Don Kazarian said. “Especially on nights like this when they get to go on the track at intermission, meet all of the drivers and collect some candy as well. We hope to see a lot of them get in for free by wearing their Boy Scout, Girl Scout, Cub Scout, Brownie or Little League uniform. Bring the troop, team, or whole neighborhood. Defending champ takes Ventura victory

VENTURA, Calif. (June 8) – Defending champion Trevor Fitz-Gibbon was the IMCA Modified feature winner Saturday at Ventura Raceway. The 20-lap main event was very competitive race and saw Scott Olsen lead laps 1-8. He was passed by Austin Grawboski on lap nine. Grabowski led to lap 18, when Fitz-Gibbon passed him and went on to take the win. Following Fitz-Gibbon to the line were Grabowski, Jack Parker, Andrew Greiman and Luis Espinosa. After the race, Grabowski failed to go to the IMCA claim area and was disqualified. After five races in 2019, Fitz-Gibbon leads Parker by six points.

Clough tames IMCA Modified foes at Wild West Challenge

By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (June 7) – Competitors came from far and wide to Lincoln County Raceway, to challenge for big money at Friday night’s Wild West Challenge. When the checkers flew, Brandon Clough had raced to his first IMCA Modified victory of the season, good for $1,100 and a berth on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Clough started on the inside of the second row and battled for position in the early going before taking took the lead on the seventh lap and setting sail for the win. Early leader Cole Hodges was the runner-up while veteran wheelman David Murray Jr. was third. Also racing their way to the top step of the podium were Kyle Vanover in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Luke Wassom in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Jacob Olmstead in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Terry Tritt in the Mach-1 Sport Compacts. The defending track champion put the pedal down on the restart and cruised to the 25-lap Smokey Rupp Memorial Merfeld Brothers IMCA Modified win Sunday at Dubuque Speedway. Larson’s IMCA Modified win is grand at Maquoketa

By Rob Hinckley MAQUOKETA, Iowa (June 8) – The pill draw was key for Jeff Larson Saturday at Maquoketa Speedway. The Freeport, Ill. ace drew the number one after his heat and fended off a crazy finish to win the QCJeeps.com IMCA Modified 25-lap special and the $1,000 top prize, as well as a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth. Larson led all but two laps that a high-side charging Ray Cox Jr. paced. A caution as the white flag was about to fly bunched the field for a two-lap dash. Cox broke on the restart to bring out another yellow. Larson ran the low groove early in the event, switched high to try and run down Cox and then finished high to outrun Timmy Current. Williamson dominates at Cottage Grove

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (June 8) – Kevin Williamson dominated the Mohawk Metal IMCA Modified main event Saturday at Cottage Grove Speedway. Williamson grabbed the top spot on lap four and never gave it back to win his first ever Modified race. Jake Mayden was second and Paul Rea third. In the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods a number of different drivers paced the field but it was Jorddon Braaten obtaining the lead on lap 15 with a late-race pass. Braaten parked his mount in victory lane for the second occasion of the 2019 season at Cottage Grove. Braedon Hand and Doug Coffman were next across the stripe.

Hollenbeck hoists Crystal checkers

Parmeley, Kuehl, Fronsman top Canyon features

(June 8) – John Parmeley continued his hot streak at Canyon Speedway Park with his fourth victory of the year in the Arizona Differential IMCA Modifieds Saturday night, while Taylor Kuehl grabbed her first win of the season in the Askrens Trucking/Flexi Flyer IMCA Northern SportMods. In Allscapes IMCA Stock Car action it was once again George Fronsman in victory lane, earning his fifth win of the season. A new point leader has been crowned after another weekend of Modified action as Parmeley snagged a two point lead from the ever-consistent Ryan Roath. Adams a graduate and a PASS winner

PORT ROYAL, Pa. (June 8) – Recent graduate Devin Adams worked hard for his high school diploma, then put that work ethic to good use on the race track, earning his first career Pennsylvania Sprint Series victory in Saturday’s 20-lap feature at Port Royal Speedway. Adams, a Northern Lebanon High School graduate, took the lead from Jonathan Jones on the second lap and then held off repeated determined challenges from Jones to score the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car win. “I knew he was there the whole race,” Adams said, “and I knew if I could protect the bottom (in turns one and two), then I could hold him off, but I wasn’t sure.
