Beckendorf shines at Sibley County Shootout

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 2, 2023) – The Sibley County IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Shootout at the Arlington Raceway saw a fantastic field of cars and 45 stellar drivers competing for some big paydays. The largest paid out was to Brandon Beckendorf from Danube as he won $9,185 for his driving abilities. He had a clean sweep for the night, winning his heat race and $135 as well as leading every lap of the 30-lap race to earn $135 per lap plus the $5,000 to win top prize. His drawing partner found the right Frisbee as she drew the no. 2 spot, putting him on the outside of the front row of the 24-car field. Double winner Looft avoids bad luck in Arlington’s turn three

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 29, 2023) – The number 3 was unlucky Saturday night at Arlington Raceway as there were three rollovers in turn three that resulted in considerable damage to as many cars. The first was in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock race on the first lap when Travis Manderfield’s drive shaft broke and sent him rolling off the track. He was ok, but out of the race. Then Blake Foesch had the misfortune of rolling after an axle tube broke after leading the first three laps and he, too, was out of the race. When the race got started again, Chad Volk took the lead for two laps but undefeated for the season Cory Probst moved forward each lap from his 10th place start and took over the top spot on the sixth lap. Just like the movies, action at Arlington is fast and furious

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 22, 2023) – Action was fast, furious and competitive Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The IMCA Hobby Stock feature saw Scott Porter lead from the front row but a yellow came out for a spinning car which restarted the field nine laps in. With only four laps to go, Cory Probst once again pounced and got around both Taylor Manderfield and Porter to take the lead and win. Porter took second and Manderfield was third. Jason Bolte was the early leader starting up front in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature but the biggest battle was between Alan Lahr and Justin Dose for the positions directly behind him. With one lap to go, Lahr was able to get a grip on the track and passed Bolte for the win. Bolte and Dose were next across the stripe. Serbus sprints to Dan Grams Memorial checkers

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 15, 2023) – Trevor Serbus was again victorious in the Henderson RoadHaus Dan Grams Memorial feature for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Serbus drew the outside front row start and ran up front the total distance to win the race and $1,000. There was a red flag on the first lap when Michael Stien rolled over in the second set of turns. Bill Johnson got collected as well in and they were both out of the race. Brett Allen got the lucky dog award as he had gotten too high in turn two and fell off the back side of the track, losing several spots in the process, but the red was called and a complete restart occurred. RaceSaver win is first for rookie Snow

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 1, 2023) – A driver from Princeton was king of the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars Saturday night at Arlington Raceway. Jeremy Snow won his first career feature in the winged class, leading the distance in a 15-lap feature that ran green to checkered. “It felt fantastic,” said Snow, an IMCA rookie at 48 and winner in his 14th night out. “We have taken some lumps this season (rebuilding the car in late May) so it was a great feeling to get this win. Stocker joins parade of first-time winners at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 24, 2023) – An hour-long rain delay and more new drivers in victory lane made for an interesting race night at the Arlington Raceway on Saturday. The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature saw Eric Stocker win his first feature ever as he led from start to finish to win the event, and just in time as he will be recuperating from shoulder surgery this week and will be unable to race. Justin Dose took second. In the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature, Charlie Rustman led the first 10 laps until Jeff Carter was able to get around him on the backstretch. The two raced side by side until Carter pulled away and won his first feature of the season. Rustman was the runner-up. Arlington IMCA Stock Car checkers are first for Eckblad

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 17, 2023) – Another first-time IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner made his way to victory lane at Arlington Raceway Saturday night. Dan Eckblad got the lead back coming out of the final turn and took the checkers inches ahead … some 17 thousandth’s of a second scored electronically … ahead of Josh Larsen. “It was pretty cool,” said Eckblad, who followed father Daniel and uncle Darrell into the sport and earned the first win for the St. Peter based family of racers. “Arlington is about 20 minutes from home and it’s our home track.” “A lot of years racing and a lot of hard work went into this.” The feature went flag-to-flag with three lead changes. Trebelhorn triumphs at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 10, 2023) – The wins are what you race for and Luke Trebelhorn raced to his IMCA Sunoco Stock Car first Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The second-year Stock Car driver started third, passed Mark Zimmerman on the seventh circuit and sailed to the checkers from that point, topping the 20-lapper in front of Dave Moriarty and Matthew Looft. “This is a tough class but that’s what makes it fun,” said Trebelhorn, who had a heat win and a couple top 10 finishes as a rookie last season. The car was sett up nice. Wins are what you strive for. Larson, Larsen are Saturday winners at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 3, 2023) – They’re the seventh- and 54th-most common surnames in Minnesota but Larson or Larsen, however you spell it, was the most popular name in victory lane Saturday night at Arlington Raceway. Eric Larson was the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod winner and Josh Larsen the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner. Eric Larson started outside second row and by turn two was leading the SportMod main. Broddy Enter, who had started right behind him was trying to catch him but on lap seven Joey Reimers spun and brought out a yellow flag and a restart. On the restart, both Matt Looft and Zac Davis got around Enter but Larson was holding strong to his front position. Another yellow flag came out when Zach Malchow spun. Serbus sprints to series win at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 27, 2023) – The Toppers and Trailers Plus Minnesota IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car Series kicked off and once again Trevor Serbus wheeled his car around the car to win Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Mike Stien tried to stick with the leader but wasn’t able to gain on him. Brandon Allen was running a strong third but Matt Johnson was able to get under him and take his spot, then Brett Allen and Brandon Allen were exchanging positions for the following laps with Brett coming out in fourth and Brandon in fifth. Brett Allen also won the RockStar Hard Charger of the Night award and an extra $100 from Schultz Custom Woodcrafters.
