Rick races to a share of history Sunday at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (July 9, 2023) – It took Lukas Rick a little longer than normal to get there, but by night’s end he again stood victorious in victory lane at Benton County Speedway. With Sunday’s win, the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact driver accomplished something that had only been done once 44 years ago at The Bullring. Colton Stewart was the early leader in the iHeart Radio 12-lapper. Stewart quickly pulled away from the 18-car field, leaving the rest of the pack to battle two and three-wide behind him. A pair of stoppages kept the field tightly bunched, allowing Rick and Devin Jones to work through traffic from mid-pack starts. The pair of pursuers kept pace with Stewart until Rick was able to make the pass for the lead with only a couple laps to go. Kids’ Christmas in July this Sunday at The Bullring

VINTON, Iowa (July 5, 2023) – Although Santa doesn’t arrive for another few months, kids in attendance will have some mid-summer Christmas cheer this Sunday at Benton County Speedway. Kids’ Christmas in July is on tap July 9 and will feature kids’ power wheel races, plus a number of prize giveaways for the youth in attendance. The IMCA Weekly Racing season continues Sunday night in all divisions, as well. Murty scores $1,000 Stock Car win at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (June 11, 2023) – Dallon Murty earned a $1,000 payday Sunday night at Benton County Speedway. Murty came out on top of a multi-car battle to take top honors in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Christie Door Company. From his fourth row starting spot, Murty raced the low groove into contention and pressured Brett Vanous for the top spot in that 20-lapper. With Vanous protecting the low groove, Murty changed lanes and attempted to challenge from the high side, which allowed a number of others to close in and battle for the lead. Damon Murty and Gage Neal were the strongest of the lot as the four drivers swapped positions and racing grooves at the front of the pack. VINTON, Iowa (June 6, 2023) – A $1,000 winner’s share will showcase a busy Super Sunday this weekend at Benton County Speedway. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Christie Door Company will do battle for a $1,000 top prize in their draw/redraw event Sunday, June 11 at The Bullring. There is no entry fee for the Stock Cars, which will pay $100 to start the Super Sunday main event, and earn the winner qualifying eligibility for the B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational at this year’s Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Along with IMCA weekly racing, the annual candy dash will be held on the front stretch during intermission Sunday night, June 4. The dash, which set a Guinness World Record just two years ago, will offer well over 1,000 Lbs of candy again this year for the kids in attendance Sunday night. Oliver races into IMCA Stock Car 100 win club

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (May 26, 2023) – John Oliver Jr. listened to the list of names of drivers in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car 100 career win fraternity and was impressed. And honored, to become the 30th member of that exclusive club. “That’s a pretty good group. Ward sweeps IMCA Modified anniversary weekend at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (May 29, 2023) – Tim Ward had a great Sunday. His Monday was even better. After scoring a convincing victory in the Prelude to the 44th Anniversary Race for IMCA Modifieds Sunday night, the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified driver made a repeat visit to victory lane and earned a $4,400 payday winning Monday’s anniversary special at Benton County Speedway. From an outside front row start, Ward traded the top spot with polesitter Jake McBirnie throughout the early stages of the Beaty Excavating 44-lapper. Once settled into the lead, Ward ran the top side and built a two second advantage over McBirnie and Dakota Sproul. Ward maintained his lead until he drifted off the top of turn two just past the midway point. Ward wins IMCA Anniversary Prelude at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (May 28, 2023) – It took him a few laps to get to the lead, but once he did it was smooth sailing for Friesen Performance IMCA Modified driver Tim Ward. Ward worked past Justin O’Brien mid-way through the Beaty Excavating 25-lapper, then took the checkers by six seconds ahead of the field in Sunday’s Prelude to Monday’s IMCA Modified Anniversary Event. O’Brien led early while Drew Janssen pressured the leader running the low side of the fast quarter-mile oval. Meanwhile, Ward navigated the high side and pestered the lead pair before making what would be the winning pass. Logue delivers opening night sweep at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (May 21, 2023) – Johnathon Logue has won many races in his career, but none had come at Benton County Speedway. That all changed Sunday night when he made his first visit to victory lane at The Bullring. And then his second. Logue took top honors in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Christie Door Company and followed that up by winning the main event for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds presented by Beatty Excavating. While both races resulted in victories for Logue, the path he took was different in each. At the drop of the green in the 15-lap Stock Car main, Logue left little doubt he was the man to beat.
