Eight more IMCA Modified drivers earn Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility

VINTON, Iowa – Another eight IMCA Modified drivers are eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational following recent feature wins that paid $1,000 or more. McBirnie, Logue, Anderson score Salute to Veterans wins at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 31) – It was Hunting with Heroes Salute to Veterans Night at the Boone Speedway on Saturday, with 205 race cars packing the pits and running before a full grandstand. Jake McBirnie repeated his win from last week in the IMCA Modified division, as did Mike Kennedy in the IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Logan Anderson in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Dylan Nelson in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks captured their first wins of the year and Johnathon Logue saw his first career win in an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car. The Modifieds ran 25 laps for their main event. Richie Gustin started on the outside front row and shot into the lead, seeking the $3,000 payday. McBirnie started fourth and tucked in immediately to run in second.  Gustin took to the top of the track while McBirnie challenged on the low side. Reserved tickets on sale now for Sept. 10, 11 Super Nationals programs

BOONE, Iowa – The hottest ticket in town is for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10 and 11 reserved main grandstand seating at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Those tickets are $75 each and will be sold based on the seating chart that accompanies this story: Reserved ticket order forms should be mailed to Super Nationals, c/o Boone Speedway, 31473 Ute Avenue in Waukee, Iowa, 50263. The form is available to download at  https://www.imca.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/2021-grandstand-reserved-ticket-form.pdf While Speedway officials will do their best to accommodate seat choices, actual seating will depend on availability. Anyone with questions is asked to call 515 987-1220 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. CST Monday through Thursday. Reserved tickets can be picked up at the grandstand entrance beginning Sept. 4, opening night of the Prelude at Boone Speedway.  Opening night for the 39th annual Super Nationals is Labor Day with American’s Racin’ Vacation running through Sept. 11.

Third annual Scorezit Cornhole Tournament open for registration

BOONE, Iowa – Cornhole competitors will have two chances to win championships, and a lot of money, during the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Two tournaments will be held during the upcoming Super Nationals, with 64 two-person teams vying for shares of a $2,560 purse on Sunday, Sept. 5 and 48 two-person teams battling it out for shares of $1,920 on Friday, Sept. 10. Entry fee for each is $40 and both double elimination tournaments have a 100 percent payback.  Payout for the top six teams on Sunday are $972 for first, $716 for second, $486 for third, $256 for fourth, $78 for fifth and $52 for sixth. On Friday, payout amounts are $728 for first, $546 for second, $364 for third, $182 for fourth, $60 for fifth and $40 for sixth. BOONE, Iowa – Drivers competing at the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors fueled by Casey’s have the opportunity to give a shout out to some of the hometown businesses that have supported them throughout their racing careers. Cars in any division competing at the 39th annual version America’s Racin’ Vacation® Sept. 6-11 at Boone Speedway with a local bar/bar and grill theme are eligible. Reimers takes second Boone checkers of season

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 24) – It was Christmas in July at the Boone Speedway on Saturday night and Santa himself was there to greet the youngsters. Christmas music filled the air and decorations were around every corner. However, the 90 degree temperatures didn’t feel like the holiday season!The IMCA STARS Mod Lites kicked off feature racing. At the end of the 15-lap race, it was Mike Kennedy standing in victory lane for the third time this season. Kennedy started 10th and ran down leader Cory Sonner by lap eight, but it wasn’t until that final lap that he was able to make the pass in turn two and go home to secure the win. Sonner had to be content with the runner up spot. Third went to fifteenth place starter Joe Glick, who was hard charger of the race. Annual Salute to Veterans race expands, adds Spencer, Boone dates

ALGONA, Iowa – Veterans and drivers in multiple IMCA divisions take their turns in the spotlight as the successful Hunting With Heroes Salute to Veterans Race expands from a one night special to a three-night tour this July.  IMCA Modifieds race for at least $3,000 and up to $3,500 to win in three Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying features as the Salute to Veterans tour travels to Clay County Fair Speedway on July 28, Kossuth County Speedway on July 29 and Boone Speedway on July 31.   IMCA Sunoco Stock Car features pay $2,250 to win at Spencer, $3,500 at Algona and $1,000 at Boone and are B & B Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifiers. B & B Chassis All-Star eligible list adds 19 drivers

VINTON, Iowa – Another 19 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers are in the running for B & B Chassis All-Star Invitational honors. Dalton Flory, Jake Nelson and Jordan Zillmer won on the Dakota Classic Tour while Midwest Madness Tour winners included Derek Green, Ryan Harris and Devin Smith. Dillion Lawrence won on the Wild West Tour. Erik Mahlik won at Clash at the Creek, Chad Clancy topped the Doyle Lance Remembrance special and Tathan Burkhart was best at the Wheatshocker Nationals. All-Star qualifying format announced for IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – Two rounds of group time trials will fill starting fields for both Modified and Stock Car All-Star Invitationals at the Sept. 6-11 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Qualifying for the inaugural B & B Chassis Stock Car All-Star Invitational will be Wednesday, Sept. 8 at Boone Speedway. Five drivers from the Northern Region and five drivers from the Southern Region advance from the first round; with winners of sanctioned events paying $5,000 or more guaranteed starting spots, the number of at-large qualifiers from round two that evening is yet to be determined.  Qualifying for the 18th annual Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 9. Meyer, Albrant among winners at Boone Speedway

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 17) – You couldn’t have asked for better racing than the fans saw at the Boone Speedway on Saturday night.  The 167 cars that checked into the track put on some of the best racing of the year with close finishes and exciting action throughout all classes. Nick Meyer in the IMCA Modifieds was a first-time winner at Boone, as was Nate Albrant in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Dillon Raffurty in the IMCA STARS Mod Lites.  Eric Stanton returned to victory lane in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Devin Smith picked up his fourth regular season victory in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division.  It was also a night where drivers and fans paid their respects to longtime worker at the track, Tammy Stevens who recently lost her fight to cancer.
