Friesen Performance adding to super support of IMCA Super Nationals with $63,000 in new awards

SUTTON, Neb. (Aug. 9, 2023) – Give Al Walters credit for a super idea leading up to the Sept. 4-9 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The sales manager at Friesen Performance has come up with the single richest slate of awards for competitors at the 41st annual Super Nationals, as the Sutton, Neb., race shop gives a staggering total of $63,000 in product certificates to drivers in divisions with the crate engine option. The 24 Northern SportMod and 24 Hobby Stock drivers advancing to their respective Saturday night main events from qualifying features, plus six ‘wild card’ recipients chosen at random each receive $500 certificates, good toward the purchase of a 602 crate engine from Friesen’s. Masengarb stars in rich IMCA Mod Lite show at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 5, 2023) – It was another big night of racing at the Boone Speedway on Saturday, that saw 175 race cars checked into the pits. Sauerman Trucking boosted the payout for the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites to a $500 payday, as well as kicking in $50 to each heat winner in all divisions. The Mod Lites ran their 15-lap feature event first. Early leader was David Bailey with Scott Bailey giving chase and that was the running order when the race was red flagged on lap eight after John Patterson rolled his brand-new ride in turn four but was thankfully okay. Seven IMCA Stock Car drivers new to B & B All-Star eligible list

VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 4, 2023) – Another seven IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers have secured B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational starts or qualifying eligibility. Brandon Beckendorf and Mike Mullen earned guaranteed starting spots with rich wins at Arlington Raceway’s Sibley County Shootout and 141 Speedway’s King of the Creek, respectively. Brian Fitzgibbons and Steven Daffern were Summer Shootout winners at Barona Speedway. Austin Meiners paced the Hawkeye 50 show at Boone and Jake McBirnie topped Marshalltown’s After The Creek show. Travis Barker was best during the Dave Riley Memorial show at Park Jefferson Speedway. Kyle Pfeifer was a Wheatshocker Nationals winner at RPM Speedway and David Murray paced Lincoln County’s Stock Car Shootout. Fast Shafts All-Star eligible list adds 12

VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 4, 2023) – Add another dozen Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers to the eligible to qualify list for the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Todd Stinehart ruled Salute to Veterans at Kossuth County Speedway and Cody Laney led the way in the Rage Chassis 40 at Fayette County Speedway. Zane DeVilbiss was first in the Fair special at Hancock County while Trey Duensing was the Gage County Fair winner at Beatrice Speedway. Summer Shootout checkers at Barona Speedway flew for Trevor Fitz and Eric Mass topped the .38 Special at Black Hills. Kyle Rohleder raced to a Wheatshocker Nationals win at RPM Speedway while Jason Schueller paced Dubuque’s Julien Dubuque Classic. And Justen Yeager was a double winner at Idaho Falls’ Race to Heal. Let the good times roll – IMCA cars, drivers, fans are Boone Bound for Sept. 4-9 Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – There’s no exact number yet but this is guaranteed: The cars – race cars, not the band – are coming to Boone Speedway. Nearly 650 drivers from 27 states and three Canadian provinces are already pre-registered for the 41st annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s Sept. 4-9 at Iowa’s Action Track, and the goals of every one of those drivers are to win the most prestigious championship in dirt track racing and have a good time while they’re doing it. “The general format for Super Nationals remains the same. Checkers for Ward at Boone’s Hunting with Heroes Salute to Veterans Night

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 29, 2023) – It was a night filled with patriotism and thanking our veterans at the Boone Speedway on Saturday when Boone held its annual Hunting with Heroes Salute to Veterans Night sponsored by EMW Trucking and Waltert Farms.  A whopping 241 race cars came to try their hand at Iowa’s Action Track. Prior to the racing, Veterans enjoyed a free meal, drink, gifts, and free admission to the races. Specially wrapped Salute to Veterans race cars were on display behind the grandstand and a stirring pre-race ceremony was also held. Winners on the night were Tim Ward in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Kaden Reynolds took the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod winner was Matt Avila, the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock win went to Dylan Nelson and Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites saw Scott Bailey take a trip to victory lane. Murty gets 300th win, Elmquist gets first at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 23, 2023) – A veteran and a rookie both achieved milestones Saturday at Boone Speedway, when a season-best 179 cars were on hand for Fox Welding Stock Car King of the Katwalks night, presented by VanEaton Pork. Damon Murty won his career 300th IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature while 17-year old Josalyn Elmquist became a first-time feature winner in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. Stock Cars were running for a $2,500 payday, as well as an impressive trophy. Murty not only walked away with those honors, but in doing so, got his 300th career win in the division. Fifty-nine different drivers competed on the night, qualifying 24 cars through heats, and three ‘B’ mains. Two provisionals with the most points at the track who did not qualify, tagged the field. New location for 10-year-old’s lemonade stand helps boost funds raised for Salute to Veterans

ALGONA, Iowa – IMCA fans and drivers will stand and applaud hundreds of the men and women who have served their country in the armed forces, during Hunting With Heroes Salute to Veterans race programs next week in Spencer, Algona and Boone. Another one of the people who will deserve a big salute is Toryn Kleen. The 10-year-old and fifth grader-to-be at Algona Middle School raised $3,206 to contribute to the annual veterans’ endeavor, selling lemonade along with cookies and cupcakes at a stand set up near Mike Hauan’s Lake Mills Motorsports Polaris dealership in Algona. “I feel like veterans are under appreciated,” said Toryn, whose grandfathers and a great-grandfather all served in uniform. “This is something I can do for them.” Toryn had donated the more than $2,300 she made selling lemonade and sweet treats from a stand at her home and was recognized with a special Top Gun Fund Raiser award last year. Murty reigns at King of the Katwalks, Boone win is IMCA Stock Car career 300th

BOONE, Iowa (July 22, 2023) – They unrolled and then they showed off his 300 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Career Wins banner on Saturday. And as far as Damon Murty is concerned, there couldn’t have been a better night to do it, or at a better track. Murty’s latest milestone win came in the main event of the King of the Katwalks show at Boone Speedway. The Chelsea Charger led the last 22 of 25 laps and simply ran away from the rest of the field after both restarts, taking the $2,500 checkers ahead of son Dallon. “To do this at Boone is very special. Mach-1 adds to Super Nationals purse for Sport Compacts

BOONE, Iowa (July 20, 2023) – Drivers in the division that staged one of the best main feature races of the 40th IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s will be racing for more money at the 41st annual event. Owner Gary Mach and division title sponsor Mach-1 Racing Solutions of Abbott, Texas, will add an additional $1,500 to the purse when Sport Compacts take to the track Tuesday, Sept. 5 at Boone Speedway. The champion earns another $250 and will take home $1,250 plus the lion’s share of contingencies awarded to 4-cylinder competitors, while $100 goes to both the fifth place finisher and the top non-qualifier. ‘B’ feature winners, heat winners and the Sport Compact driver making the longest tow to race at Super Nationals each get $50.
