Richards rules IMCA Stock Car feature at Eagle

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (April 24) – Wheel-to-wheel action the whole night was part of the story on opening night Saturday at Eagle Raceway. Cade Richards won the first weekly IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at Eagle. The victory by the two-division star followed up his first-ever victory at Eagle which came in a Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod and came ahead of Kyle Vanover and Jordan Grabouski. “We’ve got the car working really well on these high banked tracks. Eagle cancels Ice Breaker Challenge

EAGLE, Neb. – Eagle Raceway’s Ice Breaker Challenge scheduled this Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17th has been canceled due to predictions of rain and cold weather this weekend. Track officials wanted to make a decision early on whether to continue with racing plans, move the event, or cancel since they have fans and teams that plan on making the trek to Eagle Raceway and so everyone can make other plans. Eagle kick the season off right with the Start Your Engines season opener presented by Nebraska Lottery and A1 Iron on Saturday, April 24.

IMCA Stock Cars new to Saturday programs at Eagle

EAGLE, Neb. – Fans who have enjoyed watching IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run as part of the season-opening Ice Breaker Challenge special at Eagle Raceway will get to see The Class Too Tough To Tame every week at the Nebraska speedplant beginning in 2021. “This is a class we’re adding while looking to the future,” said Promoter Roger Hadan. “There are a number of drivers in the area I know who are building Stock Cars now to race on Saturdays with us.” Stock Cars run on opening night of the Ice Breaker Challenge on April 16 and see their first IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing action on April 24. Eagle wraps up season with championship night show

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (Aug. 29) – Five drivers won feature events and five others put the finishing touches on track championship campaigns Saturday at Eagle Raceway. Trevor Noonan took advantage of a restart with five laps left in getting the lead and then the win in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature. Cole Wayman was fourth in taking the track crown. Don Hall Jr. led the last nine times around the track in topping the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature. Despite having a transmission failure during the race that lead to a 17th place finish, Jeff Ware repeated as the points champion. Shane Hiatt scored another IMCA Modified victory, taking the checkers ahead of runner-up and repeat track champion Jordan Grabouski. Cole Krichau raced to the Mach-1 Sport Compact victory. R.J. Thompson tops IMCA Modified main at Eagle

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (Aug. 15) – Nate Thompson made his first trip to victory lane at Eagle Raceway following the Saturday night IMCA Modified main event. In front of a crowd believed to be the largest of the season, Thompson led Justin Wulf, Aaron Pella and Bob Ruisinger early, with Johnny Saathoff racing into fourth on lap three, then swapping the spot with Chad Andersen after a restart on the next lap. Jordan Grabouski jumped up to third but action slowed with eight to go for debris. Anthony Roth moved to fourth on the restart. Andersen spun with two to go for another caution. Shane Hiatt vaulted up to third on the restart with Roth clinging to fourth. That made the top four Thompson, Grabouski, Hiatt and Roth. Modified checkers fly for Hiatt at Eagle

(Aug. 8) – They battled tooth and nail the last five times around the track and when the IMCA Modified checkers flew Saturday at Eagle Raceway it was Shane Hiatt first across the stripe. Nate Thompson and Brandon Spanjer took turns at the front of the field before Hiatt gained the front spot with eight laps left. Mike Densberger raced his way to second before that late caution set up the five-lap battle. Hiatt held off Densberger, with Spanjer third and Jordan Grabouski fourth. Doug Lovegrove saw his first pass for the lead negated by a caution, then made the move back to the front two laps later and topped the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature. Ryan Gilland led the last nine circuits in winning the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature, Matt Andrews was the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod victor after edging ahead of Trevor Noonan late in the contest and Brian Cronin was best in the Mach-1 Sport Compact main event.

Gullion gets RaceSaver Sprint win at Eagle

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (Aug. 1) – Adam Gullion became the ninth different IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car winner in as many events this season Saturday at Eagle Raceway. The fifth different leader Gullion saw his first pass for the front spot negated by a caution. He was not to be denied, however, and took the lead on the ensuing restart. Gene Ackland got past Jordan Grabouski two laps later and Jason Danley also passed him with three to go making the final top four in the evening’s finale Gullion, Ackland, Danley and Grabouski. After taking the lead with nine laps to go, Johnny Saathoff took the IMCA Modified feature win. Following a first-lap restart, Saathoff worked his way into the top four and set his sights on the front spot. Mike Densberger was the runner-up and Grabouski rallied from an early entanglement to end in third. Albert Kiihne collected the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock checkers, Adam Vrbka paced the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Josh Young was the Mach-1 Sport Compact winner.

Jaxon Saathoff tops Eagle Modified main

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (July 25) – Jaxon Saathoff moved to the front with six laps left in winning Saturday’s IMCA Modified main event at Eagle Raceway. Anthony Roth made his way to second while Aaron Pella led much of the way before ending in third. Defending national champion Jordan Grabouski rounded out the top four. Doug Lovegrove led from lap two to the checkers in the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature and Jeff Ware scored another IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock victory. Cole Wayman used a restart to his advantage in taking the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod lead and eventual win. Ray Harrington topped the Mach-1 Sport Compact main.

Carter collects Eagle IMCA Hobby Stock checkers

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (July 18) – After he was in and out of the lead, Dave Carter stood in victory lane following Saturday’s IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature at Eagle Raceway. Carter got the front spot for good on the 12th circuit and led Michael Hansen and Tyler Jackson across the stripe. Jordan Grabouski motored to the front of the IMCA Modified field with five laps to go and paired that victory with a runner-up finish to Jason Danley, who earned the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car victory with a last-lap pass. Matt Andrews was the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod winner and Tyler Masek topped the Mach-1 Sport Compact main event. Next weekend is Junior Fan Club Salute, presented by Colby Ridge. All fans 12 and under receive free front gate admission. Front gates open at 5 p.m. with adult admission being $12. Hot laps start at 5:45 with racing at 6:30.
