Clemens proves fastest In the Falls at Electric City

By Ben Deatherage GREAT FALLS, Mont. (July 4, 2024) – Fireworks on the track followed fireworks over Great Falls, and the rest of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified field followed Ty Clemens to the finish of the 40-lap Fastest In the Falls main event at Electric City Speedway. The Belgrade hotshoe, already Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible, banked $2,100 for the Fourth of July victory, which came ahead of hometown speedsters Joey Price, Kolby Hannah and David Davis. The main event had kicked off with Kody Kuglin seizing the lead in the first set of corners. The race for second heated up among Clemens, Michael Leach and Joey Price. Leach secured the position just before a lap two caution. Kuglin and Leach led the pack back to green, with Price holding onto third. Just when it seemed like the race was settling into a rhythm, another yellow flag waved. Then the race took another unexpected turn. Johnson shines at Electric City

By Ben Deatherage GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The parade of different Friesen Performance IMCA Modified winners continued Friday at Electric City Speedway with Taylor Johnson taking his turn in victory lane. Still looking to have its first repeat winner of 2024, the Modifieds saw Pacer Popham get ahead of Mike Pistelak to pace the pack on the initial green. Johnson tried to sneak inside of the leader in turn two but could not perform the overtake.  Popham held his ground against Johnson as the race unfolded, with Pistelak and Joey Price battling for third. Price passed Pistelak on lap three while Popham and Johnson were starting to inch closer to each other. Price suddenly got added to the mix, setting the stage for a brief three-car tussle. Popham experienced mechanical issues on lap six, forcing Price and Johnson into evasive action. Price won the race back to the line but the yellow came out for Popham before everyone crossed the wire, so Johnson inherited the top spot by reverting to the last completed lap. Johnson [Read More]

Feller is IMCA Modified king at Electric City

By Ben Deatherage GREAT FALLS, Mont. (June 1, 2024) – Electric City Speedway had another stellar installment to their 2024 IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing slate with 20 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified entries on hand for Saturday’s show. Rex Feller skillfully maneuvered around front row starters John Price and Patrick La Mere, surging ahead to a significant lead within the first few laps and setting the stage for what proved to be a fiercely competitive race. As Feller held onto his lead, the race intensified into a thrilling pursuit. Kaycie Kynett steadily closed the gap but was unable to find a way past the leader. The two front runners began to approach lapped traffic but fortunately for Feller, a majority of the slower cars he encountered were operating on the high side of the track. In the final laps, 12th-starting Jordan Tocci found a burst of speed against the outside wall. He managed to secure second place with three laps remaining and made a valiant attempt to catch up to Feller on the final lap, but [Read More]

Early restart sparks Craver at Electric City

By Ben Deatherage GREAT FALLS, Mont. (May 18, 2024) – Electric City Speedway fired things back up on Saturday night, with a thriller of a Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event. Devon Jadwin set the tone, leading early before a lap three restart resulting from what proved to be from the feature’s lone caution bunched the field up. This allowed Cory Craver to propel himself to the top position, setting the stage for a thrilling battle. While Craver started to waltz away from the rest of the pack, Jadwin, last week’s winner Tyler Leach and Cody Kuglin fought over second. Under the green flag racing conditions, Craver found his rhythm on the high side of the track. Jadwin held off Leach and Kuglin but a new challenger emerged in the form of Kolby Hannah for the runner-up position. Hannah maneuvered around Jadwin and then closed the gap between himself and the leader. Craver was briefly caught up in lapped traffic, but it was too little, too late, as he powered his way to victory lane. It [Read More]
