IMCA STARS drivers racing for Texas-sized payout at inaugural Texas Mod Lite Nationals

WACO, Texas (July 7, 2022) – Heart O’ Texas Speedway rolls out the red carpet for an IMCA STARS Mod Lite special so big it could only be held in the Lone Star State.  The winner of the inaugural Oct. 13-15 Kick-N-Back Refrigeration Texas Mod Lite Nationals earns a $10,000 share of the $33,650 main event purse that weekend at Waco.  Runner-up pay is $5,000, with $2,000 for third and $1,500 for fourth. A minimum of $1,000 will be paid to finish in the top 10 and a minimum of $500 paid to start the 24-car feature field.  Two long haul awards of $150 will be paid. Hard charger awards are $100 for the feature and $50 for non-qualifiers. The Joe Butler Jr. Invitational pays $500 to win, $200 for second and $100 for third through eighth place. Abbey hoists Harcrow hardware at HO’T

WACO, Texas (July 2, 2022) – What turned out to be a pretty good holiday weekend for Jeffrey Abbey started at Heart O’ Texas Speedway’s Baby Blue Harcrow Memorial. Abbey led start to finish in Saturday’s 25-lap IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event and went home with a $5,000 share of the purse, plus a $2,500 share of the drivers’ auction and lap money. “I ran Heart O’ Texas pretty regularly and won a lot of races in classes I’ve raced in there over the years,” Abbey said following his eighth checkers of 2022. “I just protected the bottom and did everything I could to hold Jason (Batt) and Dustin (Mooney) off.”  Abbey had won both his heat races and the qualifying feature on Friday night, then lined up outside Mooney on the front row in Saturday’s big show.  He stayed in front through multiple restarts with the last yellow flying with four laps left. Emerson, Harcrow, Smith win HO’T features, All Star Shootout titles to Pirkle, Abbey, Geurin

WACO, Texas (May 29, 2022) – Three drivers won features and three drivers won championships on the final night of the IMCA All Star Shootout Sunday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway.  Jeff Emerson earned $1,000 and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility for his Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win while Markiss Harcrow collected $750 and became B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible for his IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers. Cody Smith was also a $750 winner, in the Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMod main. Jacob Pirkle ran eighth in repeating as the Shootout Modified champion. Stock Car champion Jeffrey Abbey was sixth and Southern SportMod champion Brandon Geurin eighth in their respective finales at Waco.  A regular visitor to HO’T with the Texas Sprint Series, Emerson got to watch son Kaleb finish fourth in the SportMod feature before taking his turn on the track. Opening night moves to Thursday for IMCA All Star Shootout

ARDMORE, Okla. (May 25, 2022) – Rain had the final word and resulted in rescheduling opening night of the IMCA All Star Shootout.  The lidlifter for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods moves to Thursday, May 26 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore. The event originally scheduled that evening at Grayson County Speedway has been canceled. The Shootout is at Texas speedplants Boyd Raceway on Friday, May 27; at Kennedale Speedway Park on Saturday, May 28; and at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco on Sunday, May 29.  Modifieds run for $1,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star qualifying eligibility each night. Night of firsts in Lone Star Tour opener ends with Meier’s first IMCA Stock Car win at HO’T

WACO, Texas (Feb. 20, 2022) – A night of firsts ended with Mitch Meier in victory lane.  Meier led all 25 laps of the opening night main event in the Sniper Speed IMCA Lone Star Stock Car Tour Sunday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway.  The $1,000 victory was Meier’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car career first and also came in his first start in a new Ultimate Race Car. Damon Murty ran second from lap eight to the finish of the 25-lapper, trying every lane on the track to get past but ultimately settling for runner-up points and pay.  “It was an awesome win. There were a lot of good drivers here tonight and it was pretty cool being able to hold off Damon. Gould, Scrivner, Hanson hoist hardware at Heart O’ Texas Speedway Fall Classic

WACO, Texas (Oct. 23) – Another big race at Heart O’ Texas Speedway brought out the best in William Gould. The 24th annual Fall Classic saw Robert Scrivner and Lance Hanson impress, too. All three were $2,000 feature winners Saturday night, Gould in the IMCA Modifieds, Scrivner in the Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods and Hanson in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. The recently crowned Razor Chassis South Central Region champion Gould had won the All Star Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts main event at HO’T in May and led green to checkered of the 2021 season finale.  “The track was black from top to bottom and start to finish I was in the right place at the right time,” said Gould, newly eligible for the 2022 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. “I led going into turn one and kept the car going where it needed to.”  Kevin Green, J.P.
