Three IMCA divisions Stampede tonight, Saturday at Southern Oklahoma

ARDMORE, Okla. – While rain was the winner Thursday night in Ardmore, Southern Stampede race programs are on as scheduled tonight and Saturday at Southern Oklahoma Speedway. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods are on both March 18 and 19 cards. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. both days. Racing starts at 6:30 p.m. tonight and at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Each race night program will be available on IMCA.TV, which also returns as broadcast partner for weekly race programs at Southern Oklahoma Speedway this season.

ARDMORE, Okla. (March 7, 2022) – Southern Oklahoma Speedway’s Southern Stampede special sees three IMCA divisions in action March 17, 18 and 19. IMCA Modifieds run for $2,000 to win and $200 to start on Thursday, $1,000 to win and $100 to start on Friday and $3,000 to win and $300 to start Saturday evening at Ardmore, with each winner earning Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. Thirty cars will start three-win on the final night. Wood earns first Oil Capital victory at Southern Oklahoma

(June 26) – With five top five and nine top 10 finishes coming into Saturday’s AmeriFlex/Oil Capital Racing Series IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car event at Southern Oklahoma Speedway, Danny Wood has been on the verge of getting his first victory. The wait is over. Wood started on the pole and went the distance to win his first career series feature at Ardmore. While Wood was in firm command of the top spot, there was plenty of driver movement behind him. Joe Bob Lee started 10th and worked his way through the field to second but was six seconds behind Wood at the finish. Steven Shebester moved from fifth to third while Joe Wood Jr. came from seventh to fourth. Whit Gastineau finished fifth. Southern Oklahoma beats weather, gets in fast night two of IMCA All Star Shootout

ARDMORE, Okla. (May 27) – A fast-paced All Star Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts program at Southern Oklahoma Speedway ended with Matt Guillaume, Matthew Day and Jeffrey Abbey in victory lane. Hustling to beat bad weather, Guillaume was promoted to the $1,000 IMCA Modified checkers after Wesley Veal came up light on the post-race scales. Day was lights out for the second night in a row at Ardmore in winning the Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod feature and Abbey held Wednesday winner Tommy Fain in check to top the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event. Taylor quick to accomplish at Ardmore, tops All Star Shootout opener for IMCA Modifieds

ARDMORE, Okla. (May 26) – When he pulled out of the driveway, Jeff Taylor headed for Southern Oklahoma Speedway hoping he could “accomplish something” during the five-race All Star Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts. He accomplished a lot on opening night at Ardmore, racing from 16th starting to win the IMCA Modified feature and $1,000. One hundred and twenty-five cars, including 57 Modifieds, 38 Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods and 30 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, saw action in the Wednesday show. “I knew I had a pretty good car by lap four or five,” said Taylor, who’d made the starting grid by winning his ‘B’ feature. “It was a lot of fun. Grayson County Speedway was scheduled as site of the Thursday show but rain was the early winner at Bells. IMCA Modifieds, Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are back on the track at Ardmore tonight. Oklahoma, Texas dates set for IMCA Allstar Shootout

ARDMORE, Okla. – Five nights of racing leading up to Memorial Day will prove memorable for Allstar drivers in three IMCA divisions. The inaugural Allstar Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts features IMCA Modifieds running for $1,000 to win, potential bonuses of $500 to as much as $3,000 and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berths May 26-30. Ward rewarded for IMCA Modified efforts with $3,000 Southern Stampede checkers

ARDMORE, Okla. (March 11) – The race Tim Ward has watched on TV is the race he won Thursday at Southern Oklahoma Speedway. Ward charged all the way from 12th starting to win the IMCA Modified main event and $3,000 on opening night of the Southern Stampede. The victory was the first in Oklahoma for the much-traveled Ward and the second of the season for the Arizona native. Already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, he was one of 53 Modified and 120 IMCA entries for the season-opening special. “We guessed right on the car,” he said following a 30-lapper interrupted by a single caution. “We had watched this show the last couple years and it looked fun.
