Southern Oklahoma sets Stampede special for March 9, 10

ARDMORE, Okla. – Four IMCA divisions are on the ticket for Southern Oklahoma Speedway’s March 9 and 10 Southern Stampede special. IMCA Modifieds make their Ardmore debut, racing for $800 to win on Friday and $1,200 to win in their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier on Saturday. Minimum start money is $100 each night. Sprint Series of Oklahoma features for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars pay $700 to win on Friday and $750 to win on Saturday. Start money for each show is $250. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Southern SportMods both race for $400 to win and $75 to start on Friday and $500 to win and $90 to start on Saturday. At stake both nights are IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, Oklahoma State and track points. There is no entry fee. Southern Oklahoma says OK to IMCA Modifieds

ARDMORE, Okla. – Nine dates for IMCA Modifieds are on the 2018 schedule at Southern Oklahoma Speedway. The division runs both nights of Southern Oklahoma’s season-opening IMCA Weekend Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10. Friday night events will also be held April 20, May 18, June 1 and 15, July 20, Aug. 17 and Sept. 14. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Jet Racing Central Region or Razor Chassis South Central Region, Allstar Performance State and track points will be awarded all nine nights. The track champion earns bonus points applicable toward national and regional standings. “We’ve been a Modified track since Day One and I’ve been approached for years by IMCA drivers who wanted to race here,” said promoter John Webb. “I’m a Modified driver myself and I’m glad we can give these guys a place to race. Gottschalk Wins Modified Opener At WaKeeney

(Apr. 18, 2025) — Daniel Gottschalk made the most of his 2025 debut, outdueling Greg Gustus in a spirited Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature Friday night at WaKeeney Speedway to earn his first score of the year in the Jet Racing Central Region. The race started off with a front row of Greg Gustus and Gottschalk, who battled closely throughout the feature, as each took turns leading at different points. Late in the race, Gottschalk solidified the lead and ran away from Gustus en route to the victoyu. Second was Gustus, while third was Clay Money. Manning Finally Gets a Modified Win At Bakersfield

(Apr. 18, 2025) — 2024 Bakersfield Speedway champion Gavyn Manning finally prevailed at the all-new speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway, winning Friday’s 30-lap IMCA Modified feature during the special Friday Night Lights program at the 1/3-mile dirt track. Manning had finished runner-up in both events to open the 2025 season before finally achieving victory, but his second in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region after a big win at Mohave Valley Raceway’s Bill & Shirley Meyer Memorial late last month. Outside polesitter Dalton Houghton made a strong move to take the lead on the opening circuit of the feature race. Ninth-starting Manning took advantage of multiple early race restarts to work the inside line and take over the lead by the fourth lap of the feature. Logan Anderson Wins Modified Season Opener At CJ Speedway

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (Apr. 18, 2025) — Logan Anderson made the move this year to the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified class after racing several seasons in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod division and he put his finely tuned Performer Chassis in victory lane on opening night at CJ Speedway. Anderson proved to be the class of the strong field in taking the win over some very well-established veterans at the Louisa County Fairgrounds facility. Anderson took advantage of the pole position draw and beat Troy Cordes to turn one on the opening lap and Anderson went on to lead the feature green to checkers for his second score of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. He won the season opener at 34 Raceway last Saturday night.
