Third win for Bowers at U.S. 36

By Jacob Blair OSBORN, Mo. – Steven Bowers Jr. motored to his third IMCA Modified win of the season at U.S. 36 Raceway Friday night. Shayne Bailey jumped to the early lead and would pace the field. Before the first caution of the race on lap seven, Bailey had stretched the gap out comfortably, while Bowers and Chad Andersen started their journey through the field. By halfway, both Bowers and Andersen had worked their way into the top five. While Andersen momentarily stalled out in the fifth position, Bowers charged up to second and began working different lines trying to find a way around Bailey. As Bowers made his move with five laps to go, the second and final caution of the race flew, keeping Bailey at the point. Masoner scores first IMCA Stock Car win

By Jacob Blair OSBORN, Mo. (July 10) – A strong field of race cars checked in to race at U.S. 36 Raceway on July 10. A mix of new and return winners in 2020 made for an entertaining night. With a dominating performance, Carson Masoner picked up his first career win in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. One week after letting one slip away late, Masoner drove away from the field to pick up the win and celebrate in victory lane. Brad Derry moved up to finish second after starting 10th. The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars saw a new face in victory lane as Kenny Potter earned his first win of the season. Early on, Potter and Tyler Drueke battled for the lead before Drueke broke and went pitside. Chris Couch finished second with Austin Couch in third. Weekly racing continues Friday at U.S. 36

OSBORN, Mo. – The weekly racing championship chase continues this Friday, July 10 at U.S. 36 Raceway. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods all on the race night program. For this Friday, U.S. 36 Raceway has improved the payout for the Sprint Cars. The winner earns $600, second $500 and third $400, down to a minimum of $150 to start. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. The grandstands open at 6 p.m. with hot laps at 7:30 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m. Tickets for the event are $15 for general admission, $12 for senior and military and children 12 and younger are free. On Friday, July 24, Osborn hosts the fourth annual Joe Crist Memorial Stock Car Shootout. The IMCA Stock Cars are racing for $1,262 to win and $125 to start. Other bonuses up for grabs are $62 for a heat race win, $162 for the longest haul, $62 for drawing the 62 chip and a $62 hard luck award.

Bowers sweeps weekend at U.S. 36

By Jacob Blair OSBORN, Mo. (July 4) – For the second straight night of racing at U.S. 36 Raceway, the IMCA Modifieds saw Steven Bowers Jr. visit Westfall GMC Victory Lane. Bowers used a front-row starting position to lead every lap of the feature in route to the dominating win. Chad Clancy started in the ninth position and patiently worked his way to second. The lone caution of the race allowed Clancy a chance at Bowers, but Bowers kept a comfortable margin after the restart. Josh Munsen completed the podium with a third place run. Bowers, already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, earned $1,000 for his Saturday efforts. Carson Masoner paced the first half of the race in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Danley dominates Bud Shootout IMCA RaceSaver Sprints

By Jacob Blair OSBORN, Mo. (July 3) – It took three tries, but the Bud Shootout at US 36 Raceway proved worth the wait. The Sprint Series of Nebraska portion of the Bud Shootout witnessed a dominating performance from second place starter Joey Danley. Danley led the entire 25-lap feature in comfortable fashion on his way to the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car win. Tyler Drueke moved up from fifth to finish second, while Stuart Snyder drove up from ninth to finish third. The hard charger of the race was Monty Ferriera, as he finished fourth after starting 15th. Kenny Potter completed the top five. The IMCA Modified feature became a tale of two halves of the race. Half number one went to Brandon Williams as he looked to have the car to beat. While leading comfortably, however, a lapped car made contact with Williams, forcing him pitside and ending his night. Two nights of racing this weekend at U.S. 36 Raceway

OSBORN, Mo. – Two big nights of racing are set for this weekend at U.S. 36 Raceway. This Friday, July 3, is the Budweiser Shootout. After two postponements, U.S. 36 has remained persistent in completing the Bud Shootout. The Sprint Series of Nebraska is once again prepared to make its first appearance of the season at U.S. 36 that evening. As part of the event, heat race bonuses are on the line for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars. Winners will receive a $75 bonus. Second in the heats earn a $50 bonus with third picking up a $25 bonus. To complete the show, the IMCA Modifieds and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods will also battle it out on the high banks. Baumli up to challenge at Doyle Lance Remembrance Race

By Jacob Blair OSBORN, Mo. (June 26) – When the big money is on the line, it is historically J.J. Baumli always challenging to run away with the winner’s check. However, for the Doyle Lance Remembrance Race for the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, it looked as though Mich Ross and Connor Masoner would be the one’s battling for the trophy. Ross led more than half of the 20-lap feature, with Masoner in his tire tracks. With a few laps to go, Masoner got a run on Ross and the two made contact. Both drivers left the track with flat tires and Baumli inherited the lead and the eventual win. Chad Clancy, making his first appearance in a Stock Car this season, finished in the second position. Rain postpones Bud Shootout at U.S. 36 Raceway

OSBORN, Mo. (June 19) – Due to late morning rain, US 36 Raceway officials have canceled racing for June 19. With the threat for more storms later today and driver’s traveling from several different states, US 36 made the decision to cancel for tonight. The Bud Shootout featuring the Sprint Series of Nebraska is postponed to Friday, July 3. The Doyle Lance Remembrance Race for the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars is postponed to next Friday, June 26. The race pays $700 to win and $100 to start. In addition to the Doyle Lance Remembrance Race, up next at US 36 Raceway, Friday June 26, is the Weekly Racing Series featuring IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and Karl Kustoms SportMods.

Ferriera is first in RaceSaver feature at U.S. 36

(June 12) – A full night of competition greeted both competitors and fans Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway and a multi-groove race track provided for intense racing all night long. The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars again saw two distinct grooves from the drivers up front. Kenny Potter led early using the low line, while Jay Russell tried the high line. Further back, Monty Ferriera ran the low line, with Tyler Drueke on the top. Once the race found a rhythm, so did Ferriera as he worked his way to the lead. Ferriera went on to win the race, with Russell second, Drueke third and Potter in fourth. Alex Salzman finished in the fifth spot. Chad Clancy dominated the IMCA Modified feature in route to his first trip to Westfall GMC victory lane this season.
